I've already got my ticket in the pre sale but i know last year it was very hard to get tickets on the internet on release night but does anyone think that their will be a lower demand for tickets this year for reasons like last years weak lineup and this years weak rumours might have put people off or downloads lineup being so good this year. what d'ya reckon ?

I think this year will be more popular than ever. It's not line-ups that sell festival tickets anymore.

I think it'll be the same as every year, for alot of people R&L is a right of passage, you'll get people who'll go no matter the line up and every year you'll get a new generation of younger people attending.

Not too hard to get tickets if you know what you're doing and persevere.

I'm glad I get to miss the rush for tickets, much better buying tickets a year in advance.

I thought it was easier than ever last year.
I know a few people i who struggled (mainly girls, cause they're not such computer nerds.. in general) who saw one error page and panicked, but i remember at about half 10 at night going on one of the main sites, refreshinga bout 3 times and getting straight through.

is it worth having a couple of laptops set up with different sites, constantly refreshing the pages?

Glad I did it in hindsight. Would no way have enough money to even buy half a ticket right now.

last year my mate didn't manage to get a ticket on the night but I told him to keep checking back on seetickets over the next few days. He did and by the wednesday he was able to buy his ticket with no hassle, and I did it the same way for 2008. I wouldn't worry if you don't get your ticket the first time around, there's always a way :P

Tickets will sell out straight away, the touts will make sure of that. There'll be thousands of tickets on eBay and Viagogo the next day.

Didn't have much problem at all getting tickets last year, think it was about 15-20 minutes after they went on sale if I remember correctly.

As for the original question, I can't see it not selling out very quickly again this year. Maybe if the rumoured bands become standard headliner material it might sell out slower in years to come, but reputation alone will see it sell out quickly this year.

I never had trouble getting tickets, last year i managed 16 tickets in the first 40 minutes, and got 3 more about an hour later. I had about 6 friends at my house at the same time, all with bank cards standing around my pc, relying on me to get them tickets for them and other friends, it was chaos! and i was calm as a cucumber... since i had mine on presale :P (lets just say i got a few free pints for that :])

you just have to be lucky i think, however, having a history of buying tickets on the day of big sales does help

It will be interesting to see - if the 3 suspected are all headliners, which order they release them in (if they do it gradually over the day again).

My guess would be: Blink - Arcade Fire - MCR

But I reckon they might just do one early, probably Blink, and the rest gets released the same time as the tickets
