I am a seasoned festival goer in the UK, but to celebrate graduating University me and my University friends want to go to Exit festival in Serbia.
However we dont know where to fly to, who to fly with. Pretty much the ins and outs of transport to and from Serbia we dont know of yet.
Can anybody help us out, give us some advice. I also acknowledge Serbia is different from the UK so anything you think would be useful for us Serbia noobs, then feel free to share.
Thanks.
Exit festival, Serbia - anyone who has gone before help me out?

I am looking at the cheapest transport possible.
Am even considering driving if I have to. I am a student so money is tight.
Any more suggestions that can really help? And thanks for the heads up with the tent, I heard that from my friend but didnt realise it was that hot.

Alright bud, me and my friends all went last year form the uk and were/are in a similar position to you - little money and students etc..
Flying wise i'm fairly sure the best option is to fly with Malev, the hungarian airline to budapest. we flew from manchester but i'm fairly sure they are operational from most uk airports. our flights were something like 84 return so good value i thought!
Once you arrive in budapest you can either arrive in time to go straight to the festival or get a hostel and have a look around the city for a few days (which is what we did and highly reccomended) transport is simple when getting to the fest from budapest as there is a train that runs from the city to novi sad over quite a few days and is very good value although takes its time! but we found that to be a bonus to be honest as it was just one huge piss up!
I would also add that you should take care with serbian police as one of our group experienced getting arrested for a certain reason and it wasn't ideal! it was his silly fault rather than them being bent thought to be honest.
hope this helps

Hey man, went last year and thought it was quality so am doing it agian this year. Camped last year but yeah it was f**king hot, managed to get a bit of kip in the woods but wasnt the best. However it s reallycheap compared to hostels and apartments. I'm still in 2 minds on what to do tbh. Up until last ear the campsite was in a much more wooded area with loads more shade. But the it got moved to the old army barraks on the hill due to flood risks. I'm not sure where the campsite is going to be this year but if it is the same as last year it is hot hot. As for flights I've been having a gander and the cheapest I have found is to fly to Frankfurt, then on to Osijek in croatia which is only80 miles from Novi Sad then get the shuttle bus. This came to about £120 rtn. Last year went from Budapest and was good apart from the transfer company EU fests had made a cock up and mine and around 10 other peoples names were not on the border pass list so we spent an hour or so at Budapest airport arguing and pleadingthe driver to let us on. Eventually iit was sorted but it was such a mission, and apparently the same thing had happened in the years previous. Looking at Budapest flights the cheapest I could find was £140 fom Bristol with Ryanair. If anyone can find any cheaper I would also really appreciate it.
As for booze and food it is ridiculously cheap, managed to get a bottle of vody for £1.20 although it was f**king horrible and gave us the shakes...
The people are really gracious and helpfull and the atmosphere in general is quality.
