thats what i said, iv'e always wanted to go and see him do his Q&A sessions but never managed to! i did bump into him once in Edinburgh but couldn't think of anything cool to say to him.

Seems to be pretty true...this festival gets better by the day :P

Any ideas who? The Chemical Brothers are coming out of hibernation with a new album, so they may play T or Rockness...

In a way, I hope t in the park doesnt announce any massive slam headliners cause i want to see all three mainstage headliners so far, dont want to start having horrible clashes.
For rockness aswell, Im pretty content with Saturdays line up now, maybe a few wee acts during the day though

I doubt very much Chemicals will play, they're bigger than any of the main stage headline acts Rockness has so far. Unless they were to get them as a DJ act and in the Clash arena it probably won't happen. I hope to christ though that they don't go to T, would be gutted if they did. One thing is for sure, they will tour. Last time they played SECC was incredible.

*EDIT* Well they probably ain't doing T. Just done a bit of checking up on them and they play the EXIT festival in Serbia on the 11th July. Unless they play the Saturday night, T isn't happening. They're trickling out gig dates so fingers crossed they play Scotland soon.

They are neither bigger or better than Leftfield IMHO.

I agree with both things you say, what I meant to say was it's unlikely they will get announced because our headliners have been announced and they're pretty huge acts to be topped. If there is any other major dance act that could headline Rockness it would be the Chemicals and they would've been a huge addition.

Yeah, I kinda regret saying they weren't bigger now. Who the fu*k am I kidding, they're massive and they are bigger than Leftfield. I've loved Leftfield since day one but against the chemicals it's no contest. No dance act really is. Who can tour worldwide every few years and have 6 albums, a greatest hits, a singles collection and another on the way under their belt. Plus they're live shows are some of the best around.

Now that is a proper clash of heavyweights...

DP have something mythical about them, but would have to say that musically the Chemicals are better (imho). Consistently better albums, whereas DP have some right tosh pop... two greats though.

Views? (without going mental at each other and having this thread going the same way as the TITP threads!)

Would add the Prodigy into the mixer too. Chems, DP, Prodigy, Orbital and then Leftfield.

Seen Basement Jaxx at the Barrowlands just before xmas, and thought they were amazing live. Better than there Rockness appearence, which was mint too!

Daft Punk < Leftfield < Orbital < Chemical Brothers

Orbital are my favourite dance act ever, got me into dance music the moment I heard Chime but Chemicals these days just have consistently released masterpieces that puts DP down a peg or two. Best dance act in the world just now.

Agree with that.

Wasnt really into Orbital, maybe a bit young...or they didnt do much when i had cash to buy music, but seen them play last year at EH1 and thought they were simply class.

So will it be a Radio One blitz from Zane Lowe or Annie Mac again or just some subtle names slipped into the RockNess flyer, every chance I get in between Uni studies Im always checking here for line up updates, but now nothing for nearly a week and half.  Starting to go a bit mad, cMon the RockNess when are we going to get some new announcements?

Chemical brothers are far to big to play in the slam tent at T, last time they played they headlined the NME stage but with T's supposed NME headliners being BEP, Prodigy and Madness it looks unlikely. Unless they played a non headline spot which I can't see happening. So ye hopefully they play Rockness or announce some dates in scotland.

Not an act announcement but my girlfriend read that Howard Marks is gonna be serving pints at a bar in Rockness joined by Rhys Ifans. Howard Marks is a legend!!

That'd be cool, wouldn't fancy my chances getting a drink with Rhys Ifans behind the bar, he'd probably drink it dry. :P
