Right, it's 2017. Virtual Festivals are commonplace. Festivals tailor-made for the individual festival-goer to enjoy in the comfort off their own home. (If they own a 'Festi-pod' that is. ) There are no cost, availability, time or even death related restraints. Who would your 5 Headline Acts be?

Mine are:-
Frank Zappa
Gong
The Beatles
Ornette Coleman
Deerhoof

P.S. When this happens remember you heard it here first (and I've copyrighted 'Festi-pod' )

I'm going to invent myself a time machine and say:

Bruce Springsteen circa 1978
Neil Young and Crazy Horse circa Weld
Radiohead circa The Bends
Sigur Ros
Remy Zero

bit mainstream I suppose but that's only the headliners.....the undercard would be full of weirdness!!

First off, can I *not* have it in the comfort of my own home? I want to be in a muddy field, in the sunshine, surrounded by the whole gammut of fezzie types, and with a plentiful supply of cider, hot and spicy or otherwise :P

So, headliners, in no particular order -

Tom Waits - but altho' he's a headliner I want him in a tipi type venue :P
Neutral Milk Hotel - thankyou someone for suggesting them, can I just have the whole of In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, please? I *will* cry during Two Headed Boy, especially if I've had a few of the aforementioned ciders.
Todd Rundgren - doing mainly 70s stuff. In fact, I'll write the set list......
Nirvana - well, you have to, really.....
System Of A Down - Can't miss out on some Armenian / Californian rock/metal..... and can they end on Radio / Video, please? :P

Like Geof, I could have heaps of fun thinking of the rest of the line up :P

The 'Festi-pod' will come with 'Mud Between the Toes' - 'Campfire Smoke in the Eyes' & 'Smell of Fried Onions' as optional extras.

'Whatever you order - the Festi-pod delivers!' (That's what the State run plasma walls will tell us. In 4D obviously )

Does it come with "Festival Friends" as well? :P

.... obviously these virtual friends would know, intuitively, when you need someone to pogo with / sway along with, or know when to leave you alone for a spiritual moment etc etc. Oh, and when you need another cider :P

In fact, you can patent Festi-pod, I'm patenting Festival Friends ™ :P

Ok, can I have...

Led Zeppelin circa 1971, before the Americans got into them
R.E.M. recreating the Green World Tour
The Dismemberment Plan - I want to see how those guys played that stuff live
Bogshed - had one chance to see them in '87 and didn't go
The Bonzo Dog Band - with Stanshall, natch

Ok so they're all defunct acts, but where's the fun in fantasising about seeing a band you actually can go and see??

Well, the line-up that played on the Green World Tour is defunct, as Bill Berry has retired...
