Okay, so i have just started to get all of my camping stuff together and i was wondering if i will need to invest in a torch/lantern or if there is good enough lighting provided by the organisors.

If i do need a torch/lantern, and recomendations (cheap, as i am on a very small budget) would be greatly appreciated  :P

Thanks in advance  :P

yeah you'll need a torch for getting to and from your tent at night, late night toilet trips and finding stuff in your tent. also watching out for guy ropes in the dark... try and get a wind up one then u dont need batteries netto or aldi tend to do them for under £5.

Thank you for the reply!

As for your recomendation, do you have any experience of these wind up torchs for around £5? Are the good enough for the festival?

Thanks  :P

I have a wind-up one that also charges in a USB port (not much use at Glasto that part I know but hey). It's good though.

However I'd recomend a headtorch. Keeps your hands free for other things :P

Get a head torch, handy for when you have to use your hands for other things

Wind up torches are pants, this is where it is act:

Led Lenser P7

That is 200 of your earth lumens.

I also have a Fenix TK 10 and in case of a torch emergency I have a Maglite.

I mean if you dont have 400 potential lumens strapped to your belt, it is not really worth leaving your tent.

Okay I maybe a bit obsessed with torches, I dont think I even turned one on last year.  However they look cool as hell.

EDIT
Almost forgot I have one of these as well, obviously:

Led Lenser Headfire Revolution H7 FOCUS LED

yeah, i got two wind up torches last year. a little round one with 3 led bulbs which was under a fiver from either netto or aldi (i cant remember) which i carried round in my pocket and the other (see below) i hung up in my tent with a built in radio. both lasted the festival with no probs.

check this out...wind up radio and torch combo for under £8.. perfect for late night loo trips and tuning into worthy fm on wed/thursday

i got my wind up torches from millets.  first one lasted 13 festivals and a few weekend camps, over 3 years before needing replacing.  can't recommend it highly enough.
i wouldn't like to take a flare into a portaloo, naked flames with all that gas!!

HEAD TORCH all the way.  Lovely Argos to an energiser one for about 8 quid.  Perfectly adequate for the festival.

TK40: awesome torch, just a little to big for Glastonbury.

TA30: Very nice tactical torch.

Loving the edit to add 630 lumens.

Not sure about the build quality, but this is chip as chips for 500 lumen torch:

me too,  but honestly what the heck is a lumen, should i be worried about the number my torch has? surely if it provides enough light for me to see then i shouldn't worry. maybe i need a torch that'll blind people when i turn it on or admit a certain type of light that'll melt the face of nazis...you've got me doubting my choice of torch now  :P
