Any chance they'll be playing, or is it more likely just to be Julian doing his solo stuff?

unlikely, cant see them playing Rockness, The Isle of White Festival and R&L. Would be awesome though

The Strokes are only doing two UK festivals this year (Rockness and Isle Of White).
I think there's a very good chance Casablancas will play though.

bands lie, take radiohead last year in an interview they said they had no festivals or gigs... bands will be asked to keep it quiet.
Other bands may say they have no fests or just 2 festivals and that may be true at the time of the interview. Then they may get a big bag of money from festival republic
Bands may be a very late booking because something as fallen through
Some bands don't get put on the line up until after other festivals have passed
Never say never, only a select few people prob know the full line up that as been booked at this point

Be good if they had Strokes and Casablancas both playing.
Setting it abit far there though.

that would be great, would almost excuse blink headlining

I thought there was some hope but in the NME interview Julian seemed very certain that they were only playing two UK shows this Summer and didn't want to play more.

IF the strokes play. casablancas on his own is apparently co-headlining the nme stage with the maccabees. so would need to play same day, and with a bit of a time difference inbetween.
but i dont know how likely it will be if he is playing solo.

If he's playing solo (which I am positive about) then he will be top 2 NME stage meaning The Strokes couldn't play as they would be top 2 main stage.

I've got a weird feeling Neil said there would be no Strokes or Casablancas, this time I'm not 100% though.

Pretty sure that due to the size of the festival (rockness, IOW) , size of the strokes, the fact that IOW is a pain in the ass to get to, that Rockness and IOW would legally tie the strokes up, that when they say they are playing 2, (difference between saying not doing like radioheads and commiting to fests as headliners and denying other fest, legally at least in terms of exclusivity contracts) That the strokes won't do it.

If the Stroke aren't playing they at least need Casablancas there. Are they trying to put people off going to L/R this year?

I love The Strokes
Saw em the first time they played Leeds , when they played main stage early afternoon !
Would love to see em at Leeds but cannot see it happening.
Whilst a Julian solo set is more likely , I just cannot seem to get into the album it just
does not do it for me .
What does anyone else think !
