God, you'd think all 18 year olds were the absolute scum of the earth, you lot were 18 once too you know! In fact I was 17 at last year's festival.

Yep, and I was a right mouthy twat when I was 18. Unlike now of course.

Basically, 99% of 13-20 year olds are huge bellends. It is not their fault, it is just part of growing up.

I dont mean to be rude and I hate to generalise, but if the festival could limit their number to say a couple of thousand then the festival would be a far more pleasant experience than it already is.

It's funny, then, that there was a fair few under-20s in camp triangle last year and none of us had any complaints. We can't all be exceptions to a rule! I live with 5 other 18 and 19 year olds and apart from 3 of them being boring stoners, they aren't especially rowdy, mouthy or "bellends".

OK, yes, I know a few who match your description, but surely it's much better to be a spirited teenage than a grumpy old man!

I'm 17 :P I've been [Sunday only due to exams] when I was 15 and 16 - can't say I really noticed people acting idiotically but I was only there on Sunday. And it doesn't clash with A levels, they finish a week before GCSEs and the last GCSE exams are the Friday of the festival :P But if people don't know then I wouldn't tell them - massssive hypocrite :P Honestly, I think a 'sensible' young crowd wouldnt be too bad, if they kept a lid on crappy drunken behavior and such but not too many people are sensible especially in what is essentially a 5-day-party..

But to the point - June all the way. It opens summer, and August seems to be the kind of 'I've had too much hot weather, too much sunburn, make it colder' month whereas June is properly nice :P

Older people that complain about younger people are 100% jealous old bastards.

I am completely and utterly included in this!

Got to say I have to agree with all the points made, Glastonbury has a tradition of being on when it is, it would be crazy to move it.

I love the date being when it is as it means loads of schoolkids cant make it due to a-level exams. If it was in august I think the famous so-called glastonbury spirit would evaporate in nanoseconds as the place would be overrun with horrid braying schoolkids demanding that snow patrol and kings of leon headline year after year after year and puking up their blue WKD
I give thanks to the druids that the summer solstice falls during exam time.

Yeah....Keep the kids in school i say :P   End of June is fine for me.....Never got into the solstice thing...to me its just another day....... :P

This year I do as if it was later on in the summer I could go! At its usual time, I can't.
Then go back to usual time next year!  :P
