Do you wish that Glasto took place later in the year

Was thinking the other day what Glastonbury would be like if it took place later in the year more towards the end of August.
Longer nights meaning more bands play in the dark which I think adds to a better atmosphere
Although the down side is that by the end of August most bands are worn out from doing all the other festivals

I like it being in June. Its like an official start of summer, plus June has longer nights than august.

Has to be June - Solstice, tradition and all the other reasons above. It starts my festival season off and I've then got others in July and August and I wouldn't want a clash.

Actually, the nights are shorter in August!

Odd post, the solstice is the longest day of the year...how would August have longer days :S.
I.e it's darker far earlier at R/L than it is at Glastonbury

...pretty sure that's the OP's point. Longer NIGHTS, ie when it's dark, and thus more sets played in the dark, thus better atmosphere. June has longer days.

May I suggest, 2 Glastonburys. One at the usual time and one in August. The one in August should be an exact repeat of the one in June so that I can read up about what I missed first time round and be able to check out all the cool stuff I missed/

I love the date being when it is as it means loads of schoolkids cant make it due to a-level exams. If it was in august I think the famous so-called glastonbury spirit would evaporate in nanoseconds as the place would be overrun with horrid braying schoolkids demanding that snow patrol and kings of leon headline year after year after year and puking up their blue WKD
I give thanks to the druids that the summer solstice falls during exam time.

Well put as ever, russy.
Though I shall miss Alcatraz this year who will be doing his a-levels. One of the decent young 'uns out there.

Would maybe like it a few weeks earlier but isn't it something to do with cutting grass for cows! Probably completely wrong.

i like it where it is ! only thing that concerns me every year is the weather, but hey, it lashed down all summer last year apart from 4 days at glastonbury so who cares.
leave it where it is !

I think that there should be two, one in June and one at Christmas. I know it would be cold at the Christmas one but it would also be ace.

Leave it exactly where it it. Lovely long warm evenings please. Plus the weather in August tends to be rubbish anyway.
