glenys
Hi To coincide with this year's IOW festival and the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's untimely death, there will be numerous extra exhibitions at the Dimbola Lodge Gallery and Museum on the West end of the island. Notably one exhibition by Charles Everest, who has finally released his archive to his family of the work he did in 1970 on Afton Downs, including never before seen images of over 30 artists and bands including Jimi Hendrix , The Who, Donovan, Leonard Cohen, Hawkwind, Jethro Tull, all in full colour. Also on the walls will be a beautifull image of one of this years performers, Melanie Safka (famous for her chart song, Brand New Key) who will be returning to the IOW after 40 years to perform with her Daughter on Saturday, Main Stage. We'd love to see the newer generation of festival goers at Dimbola, as many will have heard of and love the work of Jimi Hendrix , to whom there is a permanent exhibition based there in his honour. There is a website up at present, and although it is not fully complete it has a working gallery of some of the images from the archive. www.cameronlife.co.uk All stay healthy and happy XGlenys
