First of all, this is not a critique, I love efests and even if i don't post much, i spend way too much time during the workday on it instead of looking for a new job, but...

Am I the only one who senses a bit more caution with giving the ‘rumour’ status to certain acts this year?
I have a few in mind…a few American acts that just so conveniently happen to be over in late June, all of which have been mentioned recently on this forum...but not a peep on Neil's rumour list.

Gaslight Anthem – they're here June 19, 20, 22 thru 26, ….surely the sunday is their day at Glasto, the 27th? what with their complete enjoyment of their set last yr, and how they went down, and how they've said they loved the place...only thing seemingly against it is that they'd be playing 8 of 9 days, but they are one of those workhouse-types of bands...

Jackson "wifebeater" Browne – Edinburgh (21) Cork (23) and then a gap before Royal Albert Hall (29) and more UK  listed into first week of July and then a separate note on his website saying “more US and Europe dates to be announced soon” … someone on her mentioned that Eavis is a massive fan on top of that? If not, I guess i could see him chasing the money and supporting Macca on the Sunday at Hard Rock Calling, but otherwise he's surely a good punt for playing the farm? or at least worthy of a rumour?

The Hold Steady – London on the 22nd, Manchester 26th...went down a hit last time (07?) at Glasto, and don't they 'owe' Glasto an appearance after a double-booking fiasco in '08?

surely these 3 are at least in the "possibly appearing...we don't know if it's true or not"

2 reasons i bring this up is that...
1) this probably has everything to do with the fact that I’d like to see all 3 of these play
2) I don't want Mike99 putting 1+1 together and outscooping EFests

But they'll want their money back if you're alive at 33

Think I said it on here yesterday... Jackson Browne in particular clearly looks like a runner.

oh there's nothing more annoying than someone who goes back to their own post and tries a bit of a self-promoting pat-on-the-back for himself, but...

... as '1Mills' has just pointed out on the Gaslight Anthem thread, as suspected, they're "in" according to their Q interview (surely a 'SR' at least now for Sunday, Neil?) and so now 2 of the 3 that i suggested above were worth at least a 'rumour' are now a 'go' it seems...

and I'm so sure that The Hold Steady will make it 3--for-3 that I'll buy 5 pints on the Thurs pub crawl to the first person who points out i was wrong if it turns out they don't in fact play (unless i hide in shame should i be wrong!)

That's really annoying
