Arcade fire have been announced for oxegen. It says they are headlining. They also have muse Kasabian and Eminem.

Does that mean they have four headliners?

This obviously does not interfere with the UK exclusive.

Efests got it spot on again I think then.

Would certainly appear so... Surely this effectively ends this Green Day nonsense too, though I reckon a few of these chaps in denial about the line-up may have a differing opinion.

Do oxegen share all their line up with t in the park?

Just there on as a new rumour for there also?

Would they possibly play all three, sorta ruins the exclusive if the did. I suppose English exclusive if nothing else.

It's usually similar, I'm don't think they match line-ups in the sense they're affiliated though.

I think I might just be being stupid, but how does AF playing oxegen make it more likely that they'll play R/L?

Every year at least one of Reading's headliners are at Oxegen.

2009
Kings of Leon
2008
RATM
2007
Razorlight
2006
Franz Ferdinand
2005
Foo Fighters
2004
The Darkness

Seeing as Eminem and Kasabian are definately not playing, I'd say Arcade Fire are nailed on.

Ohhhh I see. Thanks!

Well I guess that's them pretty set then?

I was sort of hoping eFests had f**ked it up for Festival Republic's sake. I like AF, but I don't think they'll be a popular headliner at all.

Thing is though it says headlining, however....

MUSE
KASABIAN &
EMINEM

Have already been announced as headliners.

Are AF second stage headliners or are one on the other three....

Neil any ideas?

Franz Ferdinand and Razorlight didn't headline Oxegen the same year they headlined Reading. They were both second on the bill.

How many headliners are they having eminem kasabian muse and jay-z could possibly co-headline with eminem. Does it mean headlining another stage.

It says on the oxegen website HEADLINER ARCADE FIRE TO LIGHT UP OXEGEN. FATBOY SLIM ALSO ADDED!

Maybe kasabian not headlining...

The line up page that hasnt added ARCADE FIRE yet reads like this:-

EMINEM, MUSE, JAY-Z, THE BLACK EYED PEAS, KASABIAN, THE PRODIGY, FLORENCE+THE MACHINE.....

I thought they shared the same line-up as titp or is it just some of the line-up?

there's a lot that's the same, but they're not identical.

Yeah I don't think T and Oxygen are affiliated in any way/ It's just that there bound to end up with similar lineups as obviously the same bands are avalible that weekend, and as Oxygen is outside the UK, they don't have to worry about exclusivity etc.

Erm, you're more than a little wrong. :P

T & Oxegen used to be owned by the same company - MCD - tho they sold out most of their T shareholding to Live Nation a year or three back.

However, MCD and LN between them also own Festivals Republic (who run Reading/Leeds) almost equally, which gets to show they have a cosy relationship rather than being out-and-out competitors. From what I get to hear, many of the acts for both are booked at the same time by the same person.

The line ups aren't similar, they're virtually identical.

yeah this is what i assumed was happening aswell. But doesn't there sort of go to say AF aren't headliner worthy hence the co-headlining tag, i think they'll be COing with Gorillaz

Completely different festivals. Oxygen/TITP nearly always go for safe headliners whereas R&L are willing to take a chance.

Yet o and r/l sharing same headliner af. Whether they are are co-headlining or not. Af are a risky headliner for a major fest that has relied on the radio 1/nme flavor of the month crowd for the past few years
