Just listening to a Radio Slave remix of a track called Dead Souls on Buzzin' Fly. Thinking how great it would be for any of these guys to turn up:

Radio Slave
Justin Martin
Ben Watt
Alex Santos
Doc Martin
Stacey Pullen
Ricardo Villalobos
Rob Hood
Mark Farina
High Contrast
Commix
LTJ Bukem

Plus, oooh, about a thousand other folk I love.... :P

MGMT were actually woeful at Electric Picnic last year, I thought their sound was too mainstream for the eclectic taste of the festival, I think likewise for Rockness.

as above but replace electric picnic with bestival.

they were beyond shite.

I quite enjoyed MGMT at T In The Park in 08. I think they'd be a good addition to the line up.

Really hoping for some decent electronic actsa getting announced soon.

Duck Sauce
Boy 8-Bit
Steve Aoki
Hot Chip (unlikely)
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
Grum
Scratch Perverts
Utah Saints (very unlikely, not that RockNessish but would be amazing if them came)

Yes they are.

I'm wondering if MGMT might be a realistic band that might play.
i'd love to see MGMT at rockness, they'd be ideal for the main stage on the friday night.

that doesn't really make any sense. MGMT are a lot less mainstream than some of the bands at rockness.

Digitalism is one act that should be welcomed back, absolutely outstanding two years ago.
seen digitalism at leeds, can't remember when.. maybe 2008. they were good anyway.

I saw MGMT at the Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh and thought they were excellent.

The Gaslight Anthem? They're touring the UK starting the week following Rockness so why not? (unless they go to download) would be a great afternoon ten set I reckon

Agreed, didn't realise how well crookers and fedde le grande etc would go down at a tiesto gig either aha.

Drop the Lime and Boris Dlugosch both playing HYP? in May they would both be excellent at rockness as well.

Utah Saints played at last years's Wickerman so you never know. Wickerman is a much more chilled out fest than Rockness!  :P

X-Press 2 played Wickerman a couple of years aswell. Only saw them once a few years back at the Arches and they were great. Might be an addition to Rockness again after playing in 2006.

- I would rather not to be honest ! Awful set at Rockness in 2008..managed their time so poorly that they got cut off on their last song, which happens to be 'Pogo', probably their biggest crowd pleaser! If they have new material, and put together a better set, fair enough..

Other than that, dont bother booking them!

So when is the next announcement then, could there be another tomorrow again.  I sense an apathy in the forum because of the trickle of line up announcements.  I know I said chill last week when there was only two mentioned last week, but time is flying by now, I think ten names should be announced over the next week or two at least.

Don't remember them being cut off at all, prob cos the rest of their set was so good. I thought they were phenomenal in 2008, would love to see them back.....but as long as it's live. Saw them (or one them, the wee guy) DJ at Death Disco a few months later and he was garbage.....couldn't build his set, mix, anythin...!  :P

Shame you missed out on Pogo in 2008, but i heard all of Jupiter Room - which is my favourite Digitalism tune  :P  :P

What about these guys, Cut Copy? Playing the Lovebox festival this year and are free during Rockness. Supported Daft Punk couple years ago and that goes down well on a CV for Rockness.

This would be immense live.

They're albums are amazing aswell.

Maybe they are keeping as they have plans for a media blitz soon? Maybe in one of the weekend papers?

Can one of the forum geeks tell me what the annoucements were like last year compared to this year? I thought we had had a lot more this time last year, but not sure....

I'd say that about 10-20 more acts had been announced by this time last year. All announcements were big last year, compared to this.

Nah, they won't be at eitheir. Unfortunately they're playing that bugger of a festival Banaroo.....dang it! Would love to see them at Rockness, although I'll be seeing them shortly after so not hellishly bothered.

There was a small announcement last year in March with The Flaming Lips and Placebo getting announced then a few weeks later a bigger announcement with Super Furry Animals, Soulwax and loads of others announced.

I just remember the majority of the big acts were announced by mid April last year.
