they apprently going to be going into the studio in September to start recording their new album, surely this fact puts them at a outside chance of playing?

I think Grohl is too busy with TCV for the Foo's to play

It's unlikely they'd headline a festival before recording an album anyway. Very good chance of headlining in 2011 though.

Doubt they'll be there this year but there must be a chance of TCV playing.

Just means they'l play next year.
If the album was OUT in september, different story, but not before recording.

Theres gonna be quite a few headliners about next year.
Foo Fighters (New album)
System of a Down (possible reform)
The libertines (possible Reform)
Muse(should still be around)
Kasabian(not that I like to say it)
Soundgarden (Reforming)
Green day (due to stadium shows this year)
Linkin Park (new album out)
Theres more but my mind has just went blank.

I would say out of those, the most likely will be Foos and Muse and The Libertines.

I can't see them playing if the album is out in September.
I remember going to see Paul Weller once when he decided to tour his new album before he released it and it was the worst gig i've ever been to. noone in the crowd knew any of the songs so there was no atmosphere at all.
Granted Foo's could pull something out from the back catalogue, but like a few other people have said, they'll probably play 2011 instead.

The Strokes must be in with a shout. I'd prefer them over the libertines. Hate it when bands get headline slots because of a reform

If Foos have a slim outside chance of headlining along with blink and arcade fire, does the headliners provide enough diversity?
