Last year at Weston the bars were open on Fri and I don't think that they were checking your bags into the arena either so you could take cans in no problem

jez make your own entertainment, there's a funfair and the silent disco (its very weird watching people rocking out silently to different tunes).
Also sit around drinking into the small hours talking about pointless things you won't remember in the morning.

Yeah it was on your way down to the arena
What we tend to do is sit round and, although its not that funny laugh at various people tripping over the tent ropes.......never fails to amuse us, that is until we do it our self!

What are peoples thoughts on opening the festival on a Thursday again? Hope the organizers pull there fingers out and make it haqppen! :P

I think its going to happen. The reason they couldnt do it last year was they signed some agreeement with a company allowing them to have Weston Park on thursday nights throughout summer for a event of some kind cant remember what it was. When weston wanted to do the thursday opening the company kicked off and they couldnt find a way out of the contract. Ive been told they are doing it this year and it also says on the website they are assesing the situation and if it does happen tickets will be on sale a few weeks before.

Really hope so i'll keep my eyes open on the web site - really all the big festivals are over 3 or 4 days so i think its a good way to keep in competition with them, also its another day to get hammered! whoowhoo!

Can't miss it, lots of people with headphones dancing silently to random tunes - is one of the weirdest experiences of your life wondering if they're all listening to the same thing while seeming to dance to something else... Funny as though.

Just everybody don't get too wrecked as you may think you're sneaking off for a 20 min combat kip while some act you don't like is on, next thing you've woken up from your tent to hear the last few chords of The Verve ringing out as the stage goes dark in the distance! Mate did and he had 9 missed calls trying to figure out where he was.

I think I can remember seeing something about ammnesty tent having a silent disco but didn't think nothing of it, then I went to Leeds last year and my first ever silent disco it's amazing the only real downside is you don't have the bass thumping you in the chest like you normally would
