It can be easily done, there is no-one checking you as you come out of the arena. Then again there is a risk cos if they see no weekend wristband on his wrist in the camping section they will just kick him out.

we had a few day ticketers with us in 2008, and they ended up hanging around the campsite for the weekend. They were noticed once but we just said they were meeting up with us before going into the arena and it was fine. As long as your friend is with weekend wristband holders I doubt he will have a problem

If your in the arena all day then it won't be a problem, just make sure on a night you wear a hoody or jumper so ur wrists arn't exposed. Thing is if you are all heading over together on the thursday they wont be able to get in to the festival.

You do realize for an extra £30 he could get a weekend ticket?!
Yep you might aswell buy a weekend ticket for the extra £30. You should only really buy day tickets if your going for a day tbh, or that the festival has sold out of weekend tickets and you can't do it any other way.
That way if you want to stay an extra day you can...(pull a sick day from work, if thats the reason for two day tickets.

what do people do after the gigs have finished if you've only got a day ticket? because I won't be in a fit state to drive anywhere

if you want to camp, get a camping ticket! the campsites are busy enough with a load of cheapskates trying to camp for free.
