one or both of these bands has played most years that I've been. always adds to the festival IMO. FM are playing the Fuji festival in Japan which seems to provide a few early indicators for R+L...

If DKM play... my weekend will be made.
Flogging Molly less so... but would be amazing if they did
Although my friends will have NO idea who both of them are... but I have to see at least one if they play.

I saw Flogging Molly at the Lockup Stage in 08 and they amazing! I'd love to see them again

I`d be happy with either, and even happier with both.
Is dropkicks headlining the Lockup a possibility, say on the arcade fire day?

Dropkick on the day of Arcade Fire.
MOST ULTIMATE RESULT EVER.
I wish flogging molly would headline,
But they were middle of the day in 08
The set was amazing but way too short
Dropkicks could headline though, they're definately at least as big as rise against lol

nah, I wanna see Blink. especially if Tom has learned how to play guitar
Love both bands and would hate to call that. Arcade fire just totally underwhelm me

I would only want to see Blink for one, maybe two songs. I couldn't care less about them.
But each to their own.
And your right, Arcade Fire are just a boring noise to me. Can't see the attraction.

Who would you want on the lockup this year. 2 headliners and 2 underneath
I`d go for:
Rancid
Dropkick Murphys
The King Blues
The Get Up Kids
Saosin
Dillinger 4

doubt DKM would be 2nd. any 2 from Rancid, NOFX, DKM and Bad Religon would be awesome. if Rancid and NOFX play Reading or tour this year 2010 will result in me seeing all my favourite bands ever (assuming Carter play their 4th last ever gigs
)
I'll go with
Rancid
Alkaline Trio
Flogging Molly
NOFX
Against Me!
Lagwagon
apologies for the unlikely/old school nature of this. I'm sure it'll be more up-to-date, I'm just too old to remember these new fangled punk bands ;D
with DKM and King Blues playing the mainstage

DKM and King Blues on main stage does actually make alot more sense.
I think Rancid/ NOFX is the ultimate lockup headliner combination thats actually possible.

Surely Rancid and NOFX are too big for the Lock-up. They don't get over here enough to be put on such a small stage.

Id say they're at least as big as less than jake and gallows (08 headliners)
last year they shrunk it down, both in physical size and the headliners were a lot smaller
And I know for a lot of people the lock-up stage is like a festival on its own
It'd be good to get some more big names on there

NOFX and Rancid are bigger than Less Than Jake too. But like I said it's frequency of tours, NOFX and Rancid don't get over here much, whereas Less Than Jake do, and as for Gallows people have been able to catch them everywhere over the past few years.the headliners were a lot smaller
In fact, in the time I've been going to Reading the collective appearances of NOFX and Rancid has been 1. Which was NOFX in 2005.
