So they are going back into the studio and have announced festival dates in July. Any chance they could be one of the headliners ? Would be great I think.

They're being rumoured for all sorts of festivals, Latitude the most common, Indietracks the most pleasing. Apparently they're announcing "a" date next week.

Yeah, I'd heard the Latitude rumour as well. I would love them at EotR though. Been a fan right from the start and think they'd be perfect.

I would love it if they headlined. Maybe Isobel campbell would like to join up with them (Am I right in thinking she is no longer a member?), and perhaps she would like to bring Mr Lanegan along with her.

There's more chance of Slayer headlining the garden stage than Isobel Campbell ever rejoining B&S.

Woohoo, Slayer for the Garden Stage

Lets start the rumour; Slayer to headline saturday night.
I would be more than happy.

Think the festival they're referring to in July might be Summer Sundae....

Which is of course in August!!!!

I am very pleased that I am already seeing The National and Grizzly Bear this year. The disappointment of them now being incredibly unlikely for EotR is lessened somewhat.
Gutted about B&S though, they would have been great for EotR. Hopefully they'll play some headline shows in the capital.

Ummmmmmmm, very disappointing that it looks like none of these will be at EOTR.
So besides Wilco who do we think would be good headliners ?

Well off the top of my head:
My Morning Jacket
Decemberists
Turin Brakes
Sufjan Stevens
Jayhawks
Bright Eyes
Polyphonic spree
Jonsi
The Waterboys
The Gaslight Anthem
Broken Social Scene
Tori Amos
The Dears
Talk Talk
or Tom Waits, at a pinch y'know

For the Big Top stage I'd say White Denim would be perfect to headline one of the nights, given that 'Fits' was the album of the year last year (an no other festival seems to have them yet)...
