Apologies, I know for a fact there's already a thread on Jackson SOMEWHERE because I contributed to it, but I can't for the life of me find it, nor get it returned via the search results...

Anyway, looking at his tour dates, anyone else think Jackson Browne & David Lindley (and band) could be a strong possibility?

without a F*CKING doubt!!!!! he's in england, finishing in the royal albert and the dates of glasto are completely free, i think this is almost certain!!!!!

i saw him in 2002, and it was one of my best gigs ever .... including the who, springsteen, neil young, and many many others.

Imagine 'these days' or 'late for the sky' in the acoustic tent!!! *wells up* :P

This would be wonderful - love Jackson Browne's music.

Have seen him perform a few years back (not Glasto)and he did a 'greatest hits' package.
Perfect for Glasto imo whatever stage he plays. Maybe Jazzworld ?

Excellent back catalogue of classic tunes so if he comes I will be there ! :P

Oh dear lord, this does look very possible.

Really hope this happens.

Jackson Browne is a poet, a heartbreaking singer and a damn fine musician. He'd be my first choice regardless of any clash.

Please make it happen, Glastonbury!

Saw him multiple times over the years (Lindley too with his band El Ray-o X)...

JB's recent material is just as strong as the classic stuff.  The only downside would be all the things he didn't play because he has such a deep catalog.

Very exciting potential!

Just announced for Cornbury the following weekend, so he is doing festivals!

I'm trying very hard not to get over excited about this completely unsubstantiated rumour

He sat in our box at a Christy Moore gig in Liverpool a few years ago and went on stage to join Christy for an encore of Before the Deluge.  Fabulous!  Christy sang Lisdoonvarna that night, which references Jackson Browne and we all had a little chuckle in our box!

A few other favourites of mine, from that concert (which is how I imagine they'll be played at Glastonbury, although he is taking his band on tour too):

Enjoy! :P

I wonder how much David Lindley remembers of being at Glasto in '71 with Terry Reid:

The first few are all wonderful:

My favorite is "The Pretender"
A very sad album that was important for me at a very sad time in my life...nearly wore my LP out in those days.

"Running on Empty" was very popular, new songs recorded live in the late 70's.

"Late for the Sky"
"Saturate before using"...both are very good

He has a couple good greatest hits compilations.
His recent output is very good, but less well know...his most recent is "Time the Conquerer"
Pretty much hard to go wrong.

I'd agree with the poster above me, it's really almost impossible to go wrong.

His recent Live Acoustic Vol 1. & Vol 2. are great. He also has a new album coming out in May, called "Love Is Strange", which is a 2 CD live album of shows he and David Lindley did in 2006. That could be pretty similar to how the show will go this year.

I personally would recommend starting with "Late For The Sky" though. One of my top 5 (maybe 3) albums of all time, it moves me every time I listen to it. It's just beautiful.

Enjoy though, whatever you choose.

I would suggest first 4 albums  - 'late for the sky' being a good starter..the recent albums although solid would not, in my opinion, be a flattering start to his back catalogue...he's on spotify, but only half of his albums are there....enjoy
