as most of you will know, jim king comes onto these forums and answers our questions. this is a great opportunity for us, the customers, to get information straight from the festival organiser, and it is an equally good opportunity for the festival to see exactly what the punters want.

i thought it would be a good idea though to have a thread just for comments and feedback about the festival.

we already have a seperate thread just for questions, so if anyone has any comments, good or bad, some suggestions or if you just want to say keep up the good work - post it in here and then jim can see what the customers are thinking.

i'll start with a few points:

-- the choice of food and drink at rockness is the best i've seen at any festival and i hope this continues. just want to say well done on this, i think it's important to offer variety and it really adds something extra that a lot of other festivals don't offer.

-- the entertainment after the bands finish is brilliant, but because most of it is in the arena, it means having to leave your booze in the campsite! last year we had the carling amnesty and the monster dj thing and they were both great, but i think something in a tent would be good in the campsite so that there is another option for people who want to stay in the campsite with their booze.

I genuinely can't think of any complaints about the festival.

Great music, great atmosphere, fantastic selection of food and drink.

It has the best atmosphere and I think alot of this is to do with the acts booked. I hope the festival keeps going this way and not down the TITP route.

Rockness is going to go from strength to strength and I'm glad I'm part of it. :P

I have to agree with you there, but I'm sure there'll still be plenty of acts to keep me interested over the weekend.

If all else fails you can just sit it out in the Real Ale Bar. :P

Again :P
Plenty of running practice now for hot footing it back for a refill between bands though!

I personally think that the line up is good, I prefer it to last years already. If it was this line up in 09 I may have felt a little differently.

Only thing bad I can say about the festival is the evil bullys in the arena that take any food or liquid off you that you took in from the campsite. really bugs me especially if its a non alcoholic beverage.

That's license though, can't really do much about it.

Maybe the entertainment can stay open a little longer for the campers??

It usually finishes up about 2ish in the Nesstival area if i remember rightly? How about DJ's paying until 4, that way it may intice more people to camp the whole weekend instead of travelling back to Inverness etc... and also give the campers more dance time!! Whoop Whoop!

Didn't notice myself but last year a few people i know were noticing a significant shift in atmosphere from the usual relaxed friendly vibe to a more aggressive T in the park crowd.

I love Rockness but if that were to happen it would end the love in for me.

There where a few more idiots there last year. Mainly because RN wasn't on the same weekend as Coloursrfest at Braehead, as it had been in previous years.

I've not been since the year Daft Punk played but that year there wasn't much decent in the way of afterhours entertainment so we held our own gazebo raves most nights :P How does the afterhours work now, do they get all the day punters out then let you back into the main arena or something? Also, am I right in thinking the after hours has had some bigger name DJs playing in the last year or two? I'm looking forward to returning to Rockness after two years at festivals abroad but the whole afterhours thing has always killed TITP etc for me as it's usually baws! Hoping for good things at this years Rockness :P

they probably can't get a licence to have it any later cause there's houses nearby.

there's stuff in the arena going on til 4am.

aye all i can remember from that year was a tent in the campsite with some bands playing and it seemed to finish quite early. we ended up dancing outside one of the campsite shops, there were loads of people pure raving away outside this wee shop. it was great fun :P
