I am a V Virgin so sorry for asking a silly question!! I am hearing about this Indie disco......... and I am a little intrigued........ Is it any good? Does everyone just pile into the Arena for some Indie songs basically??
I am liking the sound of it I would just like to know a little more from everyone!!!
I've created a Facebook group for people going to Weston Park this year. It's not meant to take anything from these forums because they are brilliant, it's to further enhance them if anything to get everyone together in a group! Please click the link to see it!!

I'll probably get rinsed for this, but year-on-year, the Indie Disco is the BEST night.
Sorry for you purists who like your headline acts!
Why do I think the Indie Disco makes for the best night? It's simply the anticipation of the weekend ahead. You've arrived, pitched your tent, had a bite to eat, drank a few cans and then you get the chance to dance to all the 'hits' for 3 hours.
Be warned though, the arena gets absolutely rammed, so if you wish to shoe-gaze, get there early to be sure of a spot.
With classic indie anthems and the best of the bands playing that coming weekend, you can be sure of a cracking night, plenty of dancing and some dead good tunes.
Nothing like getting double hot and a bit drunk dancing like a loon for a few hours, before going back to your tent for a few more cans and a difficults night sleep as you are constantly disturbed by people arriving, people shouting, people drinking and people with air-horns (and people shouting out 'Bollocks!' every two minutes!)
Getting up on the Saturday morning is always an interesting sight. (This probably doesn't apply to Red which is always rammed). The number of extra people who've arrived and managed to put tents in what were previously unavailable gaps is incredible (Glastonbury gives the best example of this!).
Then, Saturday morning it's 'game on' - depending on the weather, either you'll wake up at 9am with a stonking headache from the sun heating your tent to a billion degrees (and when you went to sleep, it was cold so you had your sleeping bag, jeans and a jumper on) or you get up and are a bit cold because it's damp/drizzling and because you wore all of your warm clothes to bed you cant' get warm again (until you've put on a beer coat!) - but all that that doesn't matter. Why?
BECAUSE EVERYONE IS IN THE SAME BOAT, YOU'VE HAD THE INDIE DISCO AND NOW IT'S TIME TO GET ON IT, GET TO THE ARENA AND SEE SOME BANDS!
The Indie Disco still rocks the best though, on the Saturday and Sunday you'll be spannered by 11pm and in no state to dance like a loon for ages (well, you will be if you've been drinking properly all day!).

every year i go to V with the intention of going down to the indie disco come friday evening, yet not once have i made it yet, as i'm always pissed having too good a time round camp listening to some ace tunes to be bothered to walk down to the arena! hopefully this year!!

The tents quite big tbf. I went last year had an ace time. Getting in the mood for the Saturday and Sunday and all, after spending the day traveling and setting up.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Indie Disco is the best night!
It's something Staffs has that Chelms doesn't.
Whilst they might have a much smaller commute from car to camping, they don't have the Indie Disco!

The arena tent is plenty big enough, last year we got there half way through, and were able to get through the crowd to the middle easily enough. it's a brilliant night that's for sure, really sets you up for the weekend.
