On the V web site it says both camp sites are open from 12 noon. Last year we was in there hours before that.
It will be a total nightmare if that is true with a massive back log of cars down those country roads

Always says that - they also publish 10am nearer the time!
Last year we got in the queue at 6.30am 2 miles from the entrance. We were in the car park at 7.30 and they let us in at 9 - first beer in Red by 9.30 getting the tents up - quality!
I've also got a sneaky feeling that as it's the 15 year anniversary there may well be a Thursday night again....

its fine they always let people in around 8ish regardless of what site says this year will be no different and also don't hold your breathe for thursday night opening even if is 15yrs old V don't care about things like that it seems
However would be good if they did

Quick question, if I am not camping but may want to go with friends into the camping area for a couple of hours after the gigs finish, will I be able to or will I need to buy camping tickets ?
Cheers

you would have to have camping tix to get into the campsite (know people can get round them but generally they do tend to check your wristbands so they won;t let u in

My cousin who had a day ticket managed to sneak into our camp for a bit, but the second time he tried he failed coz they were checking more closely later on.

They will have to let you in before 9am as everyone turns up and the police have a fit at the gate staff if they don't!

Has anyone been dropped off at V fest before? It's our first time and I've seen on one of the old maps there's a taxi/drop off point which I guess is where we'll be headed since someone is dropping us off then leaving......any idea what the queues are like there? Or just generally what happens?
