I'm thinking about going to V this year, but simply can't afford the tickets on release date as I'm goin on holiday the week after! Anybody any ideas as to whether or not it will sell out anytime soon? Or any idea as to when tickets will be available till, I get paid monthly but would rather wait for student loans to come in before buying one, (mid-April ish), reckon there will be some left then?

probably not any left through official agencies in April. Best bet to try Ebay nearer the time when people selling have tickets in hand, then you can collect in person and not get scammed.

Last time I went in '08, think we got tickets in early May, however they were coach tickets and I never EVER wanna go through that experience again it was horrendous! Thinking because of Cheryl Cole playin, tickets will go faster? I'll try next payday I think!

Staffs took a while to sell out last year, then they released more tickets in the weeks upto the festival.
I do not think Cheryl Cole playing will have much bearing on ticket sales, she is playing the 3rd stage.

I really wouldn't worry about getting a ticket, for the last 3 years they have been available right up until the festival. They will sell out then keep releasing more you've just got to keep checking the site.
Last year we got our tickets 2 weeks before the festival and plan on waiting this year too.

Hi
Have been to V for the last 6 years - in my experience you won't get tickets after Friday especially this year as they have announced loads more bands up front than normal in (in my humble opinion only) the line up this year is far stronger (or rather likely to attract more people) than last year.
In ALL previous years there is another allocation, usually in early August where some more tickets go on sale (usually co-incides with the licence being approved).
Also, I always buy 4 tickets for me and my mates and sell any left over on ebay for the face value of the ticket (I hate ticket touts so refuse to make a profit out of this) - if this is the case I'll post back on here so you can have first shout. I've ordered mine today through the pre sale.
Cheers Simon
P.S. I always forget my login details every year too....doh!!

they say sold out every year and every year tickets come up all the time running up to the festival even the last few days before the actual fest....
Just keep checking the official sites and on here as people will post links (and if sell tickets even though not supposed to) you will get tickets
Don't ever use tout sites and ebay is last resort and ensure seller got good feedback.....
Whoever said it would sell out due to Cheryl Cole - are u taking the piss?!!
maybe sell out due to KOL, sterophonics, Faithless, Paul Weller, Florence but bloody Cheryl Cole come on!!!!

I just meant that people who don't usually go to festivals may go this year cos of her, mainly because of how much she's been in the media this year and how many people love her at the minute, you can't say it isn't a possibility.

There is no way in the world this will sell out anytime soon. Sure the websites will say sold out but I can guarantee that at least once month running up the festival more tickets will be released. I have been going for years and I made a real effort the first 2 years to get my ticket on day one. The last few times i haven’t bothered until a week or two before. Never had a problem getting one from an official source that late in the day.
The sold out myth is there to cause a panic buy on tickets on Friday and the next few weeks. Chill out, you will get a ticket right up until the event if you keep an eye on the official sites.
