Hello all

May return to V Festival this year, dont want to camp. Got place booked which is apparently less than two miles from Festival site. Anyone got experience of doing this. Is it easy enough to get in and out on foot ? Can you pass out at any time ? Know we will have a bit of a hike from the festival up to the gate but thats fine. Any advice offered appreciated

Thanks

I live about ten miles from weston park and its pretty easy to get in and out by foot. I guess you are probably stopping somewhere on or near the A5 - a long straight road which links Telford and Wolverhampton. There aren't many pavements there but its a pretty safe walk, and if you are lucky you might get offered a lift in by a passing motorist. The only problem you might have is that the roads there get reeally busy on the friday and monday when people come and go from the festival.

I guess you have ordered a weekend ticket without camping - if so then you have in previous years been given two paper tickets - one for each day. Once you get in the main arena I don't think they do pass outs, but obviously in an emergency there must be some sort of system.

If you drive in its pretty easy getting in on the sat and sunday mornings, but it can be a pain getting out on sunday evening when lots of traffic is leaving the site

Thanks for the info. Place we are staying is called Shifnal I think. Will have friends who are camping, Guess the main thing is we will want to stay in the festival for day until the end (around midnight ?), may want to go back to a campsite for a couple of hours with friends and then head out to our b&B. Do you think I will need a camping ticket to do that or will I be ok with a ticket without camping ?

Cheers

I've never actually camped at the Weston Park site, but I think you might need a camping ticket in order to get into the camping areas. Certainly the weekend tickets I get say "no camping" all over them! Others who camp at the site might be able to confirm if this is the case.
