This year will be my 14th. My God, has it really been that many. Much has changed, but not so much that it doesn't still feel more like home than any other place on Earth for me.

First one was 86. I think I've missed two since then. So...
...quite a few!

First was 1999, but the question is difficult because I can't remember if I went in 2000 or not. So it's either 8 or 9.
To help me out, did anyone see me there in 2000? I'm about 6' tall with short dark hair.

this will be my 4th (2007,2008,2009,2010) along with 2 mates...
2007 & 2008 - took large tent with 3 bedrooms (but quite heavy to carry & took ages to erect)
2009 - took pop-up tents (light to carry but not much room)
2010 - mate has bought a camper van & it will (hopefully) be renovated in time - if not, i have a trailer tent as a back up...
my brother wants to go this year as he hasn't been since 1986 (when acts included: The Cure, Madness, Simply Red, The Housemartins, The Waterboys, Pogues and Level 42 - poor bloke, how he suffered !)
Attendance: 60,000 (it must've been empty !)
Tickets:£17. Programme: £1. (cheap as chips !)
anyway, he said that they were stuck in a traffic jam for hours to get in, so eventually they all got out & just walked in...he said the place was teeming with drug-pushers and he was quite scared (he was in his 30's then), but consequently 1990 was the year of the massive security problems with over-crowding, so it must've been getting worse each year...
he got married in 1992 & hasn't been allowed to go til now...he registered last month, so i'm going to try to get him & his mate tickets in the re-sale...
fingers crossed x

2000 (23rd - 25th June)
This year saw the return of the pyramid stage (the third pyramid stage) – 100 feet high and clad in dazzling silver. There was more camping space with the introduction of a special family campsite. A new outdoor dance venue among trees, christened the glade, was introduced and proved a great success. Once again Greenpeace, Oxfam and Water Aid were the major beneficiaries. This year saw a huge influx of gatecrashers – but even so the infrastructure stood up and people were treated to a weekend of diverse entertainment and fun.
Acts included Chemical Brothers, Moby, Travis, Morcheeba, Basement Jaxx and David Bowie. Licensed attendance 100,000.
Tickets £87 including programme.

Strange isn't it, but there really isn't anywhere other than home that feels more like it. I had this conversation with a mate the other day and it ended with 'so, if you go frist I'll take your ashes down there and if I go you do the same for me.'

Thanks, but unfortunately not.
I can't think of any reason I wouldn't have gone back straight after '99 and I know I was definitely there every year after 2001, but 2000 is a blank. I've looked at the lineup and there's not a single act that I can remember watching.
Perhaps I had "too good" a time. Or there was some reason I didn't go that I've blanked out of my memory. Or aliens abducted me. Who knows...?
One day it might come back to me (or I'll just find the programme in a cupboard).
EDIT: Just a spelling mistake, nothing else. Honest.

5th time this year. travelled from australia to attend first time, and have travelled from the US for my last 4.
missed 05, 07, 08, so last year was a nice year to return! my first kid was born 2 weeks after Blur closed the pyramid, and so i had emergency phone w/ me entire weekend in case i had to make sudden dash back to Heathrow and then the US...can you imagine - "umm...wife...can i catch bruce first, he's just come on, and i've stood thru Kasabian up front to get good position for him"
