i am so thankful for this thread as it has helped me realise something, i am gay!

i like johnny depp therefore i must love the cock, all these years wasted sticking it in women when all along it's the the other team i should have been batting for, what a waste of time and effort.

thanks again for this thread it's been a real eye opener. (and who knows what else?)

Not sure about the Depp appearance, first I've heard of it, but this kind of thing happens at Glasto all the time, I've seen Noel Gallagher, Damien Rice & (naturally) FatBoy Slim at secret gigs around the site, some of them at 3am in small ass tents holding no more than 30 people.

When, and where was the N. Gallagher secret set?

Ummm......2004, 3am-ish Sunday morning, somewhere in the Green Fields - it was so dimly lit, I didn't even realise it was him until someone mentioned it, he pretty much just played cover songs, Beetles (obviously), Stones, Nirvana, etc....etc....

You're welcome.
I had a very stern talk with Mr B about how quickly you should alert your girlfriend when Johnny Depp stands next to you at a festival, since he didn't tell me until he was walking away (he was stood the other side of the other half and I was engrossed in the band)
Thus scuppering my chances of bearing his children.

I'm surprised you're still with 'said' boyfriend!!! Men, effing useless at times!  :P  :P  :P  :P

And you most definitely would have had a chance of bearing his children had you been given more notice, as would all of us. Although to be fair if I'd been standing with you you wouldn't have stood a chance in bloody hell my friend ...  :P  :(

Peace  :(

First I've heard of this secret set, sounds realistic though with Oasis being on site in 2004. I'd love to stumble across an impromptu set like that.

Went to Shangri La for the 2am Special Guest slot in 2009. Hoping for a Fatboy Slim/Chemical Brothers/Orbital sorta surprise - but we left as soon as we realised it was going to be Lady Gaga.  :P

It was an open-mic cafe, from what I was told by folks that had been there a while, he was having a cuppa listening to whoever was playing, they finished and he took to the stage pile of pallets in the corner - when I arrived he was already playing, but I took no notice and went to buy some chai.

I know they have some excellent random, unannounced acts around the site, but TBC/SPECIAL GUEST or similar on flyers at venues are not "secret" gigs IMO - the truly random ones do happen, but you need to be lucky.

I think watching Johnny Deep would have been pretty special, and is just another example of just how random and unpredictable Glastonbury can be.

Jonny Depp has a place just up the road in Bath I think, and loves all things British, so no surprise he was there in a way.

My favourite random moment from last year was getting served a pint by Paul McGann who was working one of the bars. Being a huge Withnail and I fan, I must say I got a tragic little fanboy tingle from discussing what I should drink next with him.

My mate tried to tell me I had been served at the Cider Bus by the model Jodi Kidd. Can anyone verify whether she has ever worked the Cider Bus?

Anyone else have have any Secret Bar Work stories?

Oh and your toilet comment is about as childish as the abuse in that particular thread - how pathetic. :P
Ooh look, you've even put in bold now, and lovely Langdale has added to the childs play - I feel honored

No, that comment was funny....  :P

In 2000 (I think) Mick Robertson (of Magpie fame) was serving at the cider bus. Word got 'round, and the theme tune was being whistled, hummed and sung within a few minutes. Mick didn't appear again. Bet he thought we were a right buch of bastards for doing that.
