A guest slot with Radcliffe's band would be amusing.

Can I name drop and say that I met Marie and Emmy-Kate last Friday at Pinup Nights in Glasgow and they were both really nice. That's all...

Saw them there in the 90's, 98 iirc. My claim to fame is that i then got chatted up by Miss Laverne in the a bar after their gig.

I'd love to see them play a few tunes with Mark E Smith on guest vocals for a few songs.

Just bought their In The Club album on Amazon for a fiver
Also given Lauren Laverne a cheeky tweet to see if there's ever any chance of Kenickie ever playing Glasto

Bloody hell, this Kenickie album's belting, great pop music, totally forgotten how good bands like Kenickie could be, class pop tunes.
Anyone got any other gems like this?

I tried to see them in '98, but I thought they couldn't perform because the Other Stage was sinking?

Now we're talking. Louise Wenner is a writer now though I believe. Many years ago, crashed a backstage party of theirs with a mate at Brixton Academy (in those days there was hardly any security, and we looked like we were supposed to be there). Chatted to the bassist for ages about 'cracking America' if I remember rightly. The rest of the band proceeded to rack up some of lines, and then all buggered off to some other party, possibly as I think they thought we might be dodgy press. Managed to get to meet Louise though, who was very sweet.

Thought it was '97, but could have been '98, and yes - they had to postpone as the Other Stage famously sunk on one side in the rain and mud. They did play in the end though, but tbh the performance was shocking - never seemed to hit a note. Have it in my coverage archive somewhere - they were interviewed by Jamie Theakston about it at the time.
