Any recommendations?
Can I expect to see many scalls?
Can one take their own beer around the site?

And so it comes to pass...
From Liverpool Echo, May 31
SOME 5,000 music-lovers converged on a Merseyside farm for a festival that almost didn’t happen.
Organisers said the Sunset Festival was a huge success – but blamed a legal challenge for lower than expected numbers.
Heswall business-man and festival organiser Andy Carr said almost 5,000 people came to the Thurstaston festival which kicked off on Friday and ended yesterday.
Opposition meant the event was subject to a court case just a few weeks before it was meant to start – despite it being awarded a licence last year.
But Mr Carr said the festival at White’s Farm, overlooking the Dee Estuary, was a success despite the objection – and Saturday’s downpour. And he said supporters were now already planning for next year’s event.
He told the ECHO: “Just under 5,000 were there. With the court case being so recent people thought it wasn’t on and wouldn’t happen, and we couldn’t do anything about that.
“But to get 5,000 under those circumstances, and everything we’ve been through, was brilliant.”
He said police and council officials were happy with the festival. And Merseyside Police said the event had passed off peacefully with just six people arrested for a number of minor offences.
British rapper Tinchy Stryder led a huge line-up of bands and DJs in four arenas. Welsh rock band The Automatic, best known for their hits Monster and Steve McQueen, headlined the John Peel tribute/live tent.man and festival organiser Andy Carr said almost 5,000 people came to the Thurstaston festival which kicked off on Friday and ended yesterday.
I think we can safely say there were about 5,000 people there...

I suppose next year will be the big test, this year they said it would only be British acts to keep the costs down but they face tough opposition from the new CONservtive local government who campaigned against it happening this year.
I hope it goes ahead again, it's about time Merseyside was in the headlines for good reasons, not the crime rates or the yob problems

I think the festival organisers were clever to try and diverge the location, especially on the posters, not a bad tack considering the reputation of the CH postcode.
However, something to consider is, there was only 7 arrests across the whole weekend, for "petty" crimes, and thats across 3 nights camping. 7/5000 people.

What I was getting at was whether Liverpool/Merseyside still has the stereotypical image in the media as being a hotbed of crime and yobs? I don't think it does.

Erm, maybe not in the national media, certainly some local press, and within society, don't think we will ever escape that though.

Rich> I went to do the review for eFests and I took Strudders. I have yet to submit a review as it was the worst experience of my life. We both travelled up from Manchester for the day and the highlight was the journet home. A one day event with beer tokens, and very overpriced beer.
I have no idea were the organisers got their numbers from, as we left after 6.30 and the double decker shuttle bus was packed, and it was packed after we left the Wetherspoons in West whatever after we stopped there for a beer.
Now you have met me and you know that I can find fun in an empty box, but this was dreadful
A day event meant for nearly 10k and they had 2 shit bars and 6 food stalls (from the same company). 5 traders were there as well, but it was all based in 4 big tents no mixing outside of the tents. I have not seen such a police and security presence for that apparent number, (managed to flirt with a rather attractive WPC on my way out and her Sgt boss
No matter how I tried to write a review the best thing I could say was "very well organised for a concentration camp". I was actually asked by a security guard when they searched my bag "Why do you have a notebook in your bag and a pen?"
I am certain you know Strudders. Ask him. We left as all we could find to do was drink, and after spening neraly a hundred quid between us in a little over 6 hours we thought it would be more fun on a train home (and it was, I even ended up on Youtube)

How many people did he have in then, at a guess?
And in your opinion, has it got a cat in hell's of going ahead in the future?
Also what was the promoter's "trading alias" on the tickets/any correspondance?
