if you cant do glasto for the next few you should seriousl look at latitude (for the whole fam), lovely site, even when it rains (there were a couple of horrendous dounpours last year) the sites so resiliant (sand based soil) that an hour later its dry again, lovely family area and a distinct lack of idiots

its definitely my 2nd fav festy and i will be heading there in the future (once the family has started) with little ones as its just so do-able (i wont go to glasto with small kids - if it rains i can imagine it being very, very hard work)

I've often looked at it, but I think after this year festivals will have to be knocked on the head completely.  It's the cost, time, and hassle with a very young family.  Maybe when the sprog(s) are a little bit bigger I'll nag the wife into letting me go but this year is my swansong for the next few years.

It's gonna be emotional.  What better way to send me off than Stevie??!

As this is becoming an Elbow / I am Kloot love in, check this line up at Latitude in 2008, what a day that was!

Obelisk Arena

Sigur Ros
Elbow
Team Waterpolo
Seasick Steve
Deus
I am Kloot
White Lies

In fact, what a 3 weeks that was, saw Elbow at the Other stage on the Saturday, the Queens Head on the Sunday and then at Latitude 3 weeks later. Happy days they were!

Only realised today that they're no longer rumoured. First page explains why. Lots of good stuff to look forward to, but would fur sure have turned up again for Elbow.

i'm sure they would have had a massive crowd if they'd played this year on the strength of the 2008 performances and the success of the Seldom seen kid. We can but hope that Guy's knocked off some new songs by now and that they do make one of the suprise appearances at festivals he mentioned.
