The video for "1000 years" is good too - and I'm not generally a fan of music videos.

I can't believe after all these years websites and magazines are still referring to The Coral as lads from Liverpool! They are from the Wirral and proud of it!

I often feel that these 'plastic scousers' should have had the recognition that the Zutons were given. But that's another story..

Haha! I completely agree. The Zutons are alright but they must remember all the times that they were simply warm up for The Coral. The only reason they got bigger is cos the main singer sold out a little more! The Coral seem to have got so messed up (in a hippy cool way) that they didn't jump onto the bandwagon!

I hate scousers...and I also hate that I am a plastic one...

Saw The Coral maybe 5/6 times back in the day, used to absolutely love them. Me and my friends all did, but I guess the fact that I'm from the wirral had an influence on that! Kinda went off them around the time of album number 4, really should catch up on them... Still remember going to the show they did in a big tent down on New Brighton prom, absolute belter of a day!

If you care enough, there are many videos you can seek out of Carl, Pete and the rest talking about it. Many interviews and stories of how it come to be.
Apparently it was in a pub down here, a pub I know pretty well. Doesn't seem too unlikely, a pretty regular haunt for the Deltasonic lot.

I, however, do not care enough. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't.

The more I think about it, DOY does have a doherty style of songwriting about it. Good song whoever wrote it.

I went to this!! It was called a Midsummer's Night Scream and it was unbelievable! Can you believe the lineup that The Coral managed to get for that one tent for the homecoming!
