It's been a good while since the Coral have done anything but it appears they will be back with a new album soon.
They have today been announced to play Tea In the Park after not playing a gig in ages.
If I'm not mistaken when they first came around they played 3 years running stepping from new bands to other then Pyramid. Might be wrong but I definately saw them the first 2 times and they were outstanding then.
I'm suprised they're not on the rumours list and if they are ready to get playing by then I'd be suprised if they wren't somewhere on the bill.
thoughts?

I did the same - what a great evening that was
Would love to see them again - I seem to remember the last time they played was early afternoon on the Other Stage
Deserved a much higher slot

I did and I'd love to have seen them though I didn't really know them that well at the tome and I loved the Coral.
The Coral also followed on well from my front row dancing to Kings of Leon in the sweaty packed out new bands tent!
I'd put good money on the Coral playing this year, I'd prefer they didn't play Pyramid though their break and others coming in probably puts them on to the Other Stage anyway which I think is better anyway.
When the Coral played the Other stage it was nowhere near as busy as that stage always is now though, I'm sure the first couple of years I went (2002 and 2003) the Other Stage was only packed out at headline time or if someone had suddenly got big and outgrown a slot so to speak.
Put them at The Park and I'd be extra happy!

Think I saw them opening for The Police in Manchester a few years ago and they were far better than The Police

They're in the middle of recording songs for a new album minus bill ryder jones. Would love to see them at glastonbury, the most underrated band of their generation. Who else has made 5 consistently good albums and remained a seemingly obscure band?

Absolutely love this band! Hope the new album is out in time for Glastonbury, they're working with John Leckie (could be a match made in heaven), and they have ten tracks ready so far! I have a good feeling about them playing at Glastonbury this year, or maybe I'm just jumping the gun because of the TITP announcement yesterday...

The Coral are a fantastic band and, as said above, seriously underrated by large.
Lets hope to see them this year.
Oh can we get CAKE to play as well.

...I am Kloot of course (making the safe assumption that their 5th album will be as good as the first four) and much more obscure than The Coral
