On their twitter account last night they tweeted; 'Planning US summer tour now!outdoors!!'

They are rumoured to be playing Lollapalooza which is 6-8th August.

Do you think this lessens the chance of them headlining Reading/Leeds? Or do we still think it's possible.

Green Day are already playing stadium shows over here in the summer. Bands playing stadium shows don't historicly headline R/L because FR like to be able to claim that the bands playing are UK or at least English exclusives.

Blink 182
Indie/Pop-rock band (but not Green Day or Foo Fighters)
Guns N Roses

Are for me the most likely set of headliners.

I would be very surprised if these weren't headliners. Efestivals seems to think it could happen, they should have played last year but didn't and the daily star is also convinced and they aren't often wrong.

that would be horrible, blink simply ain't big enough to headline a major UK festival

think Blink are big enough but I'm biased. mind you, I'd consider myself big enough seeing as razorlight headlined and I've only played 1 gig ever, to about 6 people, 13 years ago.

are Gorillaz really seriously being thought of as a headliner? I've seen them mentioned a few times recently. I thought they'd never played live and can't remember them releasing anything recently or being that big when they did? bit lame IMO, Blur would be mint tho!

They have played live quite a bit...

That being one very impressive piece of liveness :P Not sure if they would do the holograms live though.

But yes their first album was huge, and the second was bigger. They have sold millions, and it's a special thing to have a band like them headline as it's clearly hard to set up their stage show.

Although i do not like Blink i think the Blink 182, Gorillaz, Guns N' Roses threesome would be great.

I'd imagine they'd play like that. Silouettes then the videos on the back.

Either way they'd be alright. Have to see what their Coachella set looks like. They seem to be going all out, they are seemingly getting acts to make guest appearences and stuff for that too.

Extreme lol. You might even be less of a dickhead too!!

I wouldn't want Blink to headline...there's something so ... old? About them now that just makes me think, i was 13 when I liked them, is that going back too far in time?

Kings of Leon last year played a massive sold out tour of the UK and they still headlined and the Artic Monkeys went on a massive sellout tour right after reading last year. I dont think it will make much difference if Green day play a few shows in the UK.

Arena's not stadia though.

Arctics arena tour was announced after R&L last year. KOL was sold out well before R&L was announced.

Ok, name for me any band in the last 10 years that have headlined Reading AND done huge outdoor shows in this country in the same summer.
