Travelling down either friday or saturday from glasgow and staying in southend and travelling through for the gig. Think I'll have to stay in London Sunday, experience tells me getting back would be a no go.
Any recommendations from anybody for a hotel not too far, dodgy or filfthy for around about £100-120 quid for a twin would be sweet.
cheers
Can look on line but anyone who's ever done that kinda knows how that can turn out sometimes.
I booked Travelodge at Kings Cross last night - £42 for a triple room.
There are a few Travelodges dotted around. I think Marylebone had doubles for £29.

Veggie-wise can strongly recommend Petek on Stroud Green Road (road running north from Finsbury park tube), cracking mezzes (my gf is veggie), otherwise pubs or pizza I'd say. (Papagones for pizza on SG Road is good too).
Beware all hotels right next to finsbury park station, a couple charge by the hour (make of THAT what you will
), a large number are used by the local council for families when they can't find them accommodation so aren't really set up for "normal" hotel trade and are quite noisy. I would do as others have posted and stay more central and tube in-and-out. Kings Cross or Euston would be ideal as they're only a couple stops on the victoria line (about 10mins) away.
I never thought my local knowledge would actually be of any use, but there you go!

Thanks for this... Mrs W and I are a pair of cabbages (as my kids call vegetarians) so that's useful.
Places to stay... you can get a twin, double or family room in a YHA - or just a bed in a dorm. They have a locker to stick your bag in after check-out until you need to pick it up later. Breakfast okay, clean and they are licensed. We usually use them in the lake district but the refurbished ones in london are smart to. A lot safer bet than a cheap hotel. Try St Pancras or Central.
... as an edit... YHA's are full of middle class w*nkers (MCW) with badly behaved children called Toby. Them, yanks and even, if you look closely enough travellers looking for a cheap safe place to stay, although they are outnumbered by the MCW.

so then, gallows and the king blues both have 'big announcements' today. they could both fit in i reckon. if we get those two plus cypress hill i'll shit a chicken.
update: actually ignore this. gallows announcement was sonisphere and the king blues are supporting the specials.

Today they sent out an e-mail asking us all to vote who we want to support.
Does this throw in to doubt the Cypress Hill rumours or will they play regardless?

Stone Sour, because i havent seen them b4 and that awful clash at Download if they headline 2nd stage.
Skindred, would just be awesome. Political band like Rage too.
Killswitch, would have just finished there US tour a week b4 the Rage Factor and they are traveling to Belgium for a fest late June. Hopefully fill the gap with us

Actually, we wondered about The Levs cos they're playing somewhere in Herts the night before!
Mr PC wants to vote for The Prodigy - but would they be available - and would they play - they'd be ace!
I think that we're voting for just one of the support bands - aren't we? Hopefully, they'll be more than just two bands playing on the day?

i voted cypress hill, frank turner, stone sour. just because cypress hill would be fun, and i've not seen the other two yet.

I voted Cypress Hill (because it seems likely and I want to see them) plus Pearl Jam and Jamie T (because I'm a dreamer).
