The thing that will always be with these major festivals is that no matter what the bands, at festivals like Download and Reading/Leeds you'll always have a pretty formulated experience. Drink Music Drink Sleep is pretty much that formula for most people. But at Glastonbury you never feel its becoming predictable. I mean last year I didn't see half the bands I wanted to because there was so much to distract me.

Classic, I think Glasto would be like the awesome experience and power of Giant Haystacks versus the relative youth of Big Daddy.
I saw Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks fight at my local leisure centre many years ago. One of my earliest memories :P

The reality is no festival can buy the delights that is the stone circle at sunrise or sunset or anytime really :P .

Headliners dont really come into it. They are just a bonus really you could go to GF and not see a big stage act & still have the best weekend ever.

I think this sums it up.  I was a bit disappointed last year with the line up at Glasto but as a virgin, didn't know better.  This year I couldn't have cared a cow about the headliners and the fact that Stevie Wonder is one of them is a HUGE bonus.

Of the Download headliners, I'm only really bothered about RATM and I've a ticket for Finsbury Park so mleh.

On a strict headliner comparison, I still think Glasto has the egde.  U2 are supermassive, Stevie is the legend to end all legends and Muse are the best british live act of recent times.  The Download line up is good, but not that good.

Having seen RATM at Glasto and Reading been there done that...

Seeing them at Finsbury though is going to be a different story and cant wait, its going to be a brilliant day.

ACDC yes, I would love to see them

As for Aerosmith... Meh, has never done t for me.....

The thing is its a whole different festival, a different vibe and a different demographic, so there really is not comparison....
