Make your mind up.

Whatever it said before, it did not make it clear who could purchase the tickets, and since some lazy tax dodging students couldn't be bothered to make it clear on here and on other websites, this whole situation arose.

So your response to Irons is irrelevant, as it was plainly not clear initially.

Edit because I never read irons post in full (lazy student). Offer still stands.  Wouldn't want you to miss it mate because of a balls up.

Paul leave out the tax dodging jibes your smarter than that mate. A wind up is always good, but its outdated.

Still agree with you though, it wasn't nailed down and therefore open to confusion at the start.

I'm not defending it.

You lot seem to make it out as if it was a bunch of codes with no link to "student" what so ever.
I know at the start some folk didn't bother advertising it as students, pretty sure some folk are still trying to make sales by not advertising it as student tickets.
Other student ambassadors (like me, furry haggis, scottishalternativemusic and Student Ambassador Tickets) clearly stated the codes were for student etc.

Are you the same Poleski that has left a shout of "Mind you can get student tickets. £10 OFF TICKET PRICE, FREE TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE FESTIVAL. Use the code: 67R4R3 when buying from ticketmaster for this deal :P "  on the Last.fm event page?  As you might want to point out they'll need student ID?

I do say student tickets though :P

the problem with the original ones is they were just advertised as cheaper tickets and ticketmaster didn't have any warnings.

I've said "student tickets" and now ticket master has the adequate warnings so it's all good my end.

Bloody hell this thread has taken a nasty turn!

Some of the comments in the first couple of pages are very narrow minded.

I have bought a student ticket. I work full time and go to college on day release. Tax dodging comments not appreciated.

However I agree that if you're not a student - full time / part time / night classes / whatever - then why on earth would you buy a student ticket?! Pretty stupid risk to take.

Because as far as I know, some people (not the good guys on here :P ) weren't advertising them as student tickets, just cheap tickets. People will do anything to save a few quid.

Not sure what happened to other people. But when I booked them there was no option for the travel offer.
A couple of months before Rockness, Ticketmaster phoned me and asked me where I wanted to travel from. I told them I didn't want a Student ticket and fannies were touting them online without telling people that student ID was needed.
When my ticket arrived it was a normal early bird one. Ticketmaster came up trumphs that time. Got in no problem.

Don't think the ticket iself said anything about it being a student ticket? Also I was never asked for idea at the festival or getting on the bus, might enforce the student ID rule this year though so it's probably not worth the risk.

I cannot believe this hoary chestnut has appeared again, will they never learn.  For the 2010 fest there was about 4 or 5 threads about this, the festival should do away with this student deal, I was in my 4th year last year but jumped at the early bird deal last year, so I didnt have to do the student deal.  Needless to say, such a deal does not exist for the Irish festivals and probably never will now until the year 2035 anyway with the state of Irelands financial status.  Might have to give RN a miss this year as I have SFA in cash, never liked Kasabian, but will be looking at additions as it progresses.
