They had some of the choir at the G-MEX for a few numbers.  Spine tingling it was.

I agree that "disc 1" is all killer.  That said, the set at G-MEX I think had all these.  Black & White Town and Words had me completely lost in my own euphoria.

*please be at Glasto, please be at Glasto, please be at Glasto, please be at Glasto, please be at Glasto, ...etc.*
i couldnt quite afford the train and hotel for that otherwise id have been there

at the roundhouse, the choir were very much in the background and after 2 tracks they unleashed this beast

the only issue with that greatest hits is im going to have pay to essentially own 4 tracks i dont have

other than that theres a couple of obscure vinyl b-sides that im missing from the entire back catalogue (i have alerts on a few auction sites to let me know if they come up - and a mate of mine that drummed with Metro Trinity is also on the case) - and when i put them on my pod i think its up to 180 tracks

its an obbsession i know, but ive genuinely been there since Metro Trinity and love what they do.

1 caveat to them playing this year - as obsessed as i am, if they are up against U2 or Stevie, they are going bye bye, ive seen them 5 times at the big G and this will be my only chance to catch the other 2 in the best environment known to man

plus, i already have my tickets to thetford forest

mate, it was never about willy waving  :P and big props to seeing subsub there - its the only reason i bought the 3cd Hacienda Collection.
i just got lucky in that i had mates of mates (tenous i know) that knew jonny male (who still drinks, occasionally, in my local) and when Colin Rocks left MT a mate filled in for a couple of gigs before Andy joined the band

having listened to him for over 20 years i genuinely think that when it comes to melody, jez williams is the definitive guitarist of his generation.

They're perhaps the ultimate 'below the surface' band. A vast but normally quiet fanbase.

But when unleashed, boy do we not stop...

...did anyone have that moment of "told you, told you they'd do it!" when they did Cedar Room at the JP? I was stopping strangers around me. "Mate! It's Cedar Room!"

Let's clock up the pages again. :P

Highly doubt it as they played last year and are probably exclusive to Rockness, Would be a treat though as I had to miss them for NY last year, Seen them once and were incredible but still need to hear The Cedar Room live.

F*cking brilliant last year - Cedar Room as described above and Spaceface to finish - f*cking brilliant or have I said that already.

<Clutching at straws>

So - they played the JP last year.  Surely time to give them a spot on one of the bigger stages?

They could easily headline t'Other Stage, and would be awesome  as 2nd on the bill on the Pyramid Stage.

And I didn't go last year.  They OWE me.  Not seen them for a good few years.

They'd be a miles better headliner than Muse. No doubt about it.

Agreed - but would be happy to see them play any of the stages at any time.

Every time I see this bumped I get my hopes up.

Doves Other Stage headline set in 2003 was one of the best 90 minutes of my existence
