Go for it bud, you'll be sorry if you don't go when your watching it on tv...you'll be kicking yourself for the rest of the year i tells ya, maybe for years after... :P ...lol.

I'm sure you won't be on your own for long, you'll always be welcome to pop over the cv fields to see me and my mate for a natter and a beer or 2 like.... :P ...
And the forum lot will be there somewhere, plus it seems quite a few people will be going alone, and i'm sure their will be a meet or summat... just go for it fella. like i said, you'll be sorry if ya don't...

Ant...

We're from Caerphilly and Blackwood and will be in CV West with a trailer tent.  Come over and find the daffodil and you'll be welcome to a brew.

Not trying to turn this in to a "where to camp" thread, but being a first timer going on my tod trying to get as many different camping viewpoints as poss... where was so shit and why?  TVM :P

The shit place was in dairy mead right next to the pathway got there wednesday eve and it was dark. i was bolloxed and had had enough of lugging my shit about. Only myself to blame. that said the fest itself was amazing... moral of the story arrive in the daytime, dont carry to much stuff with you, camp in pennards with fellow efesters and enjoy the festival.

Alright ppl

First time for me at Glastonbury this year, have been to Leeds, T in the Park before but really looking forward to Glasto.

Unfortunatly my mates bailed and i was thinking of giving up my ticket but after reading these forums its changed my mind - seems there are a lot of people in the same boat, would be ace to meet up/camp with festival goers from efestivals, hopefully we can get something sorted :P

Cheers

Woody

Technically I will be going alone again, but since I know so many Efestivallers from last year I really don't count it as going alone at all!

any other going alone stories?

just wondering what its like. i mean say you arrive alone early on wednesday, would you pitch your tent next to other peoples or find an open space? are people friendly? just a bit nervous as not been to glastonbury before.

i will be heading down alone on the wednesday and then my 2 friends are coming thursday afternoon. hoping to bring their tents with me and pitch them for them, as they have exams on the thursday morning so are coming straight afterwards.

hoping i can make it through wednesday alone =P might be a good chance to get a good look around!

You won't be alone on Wednesday. By the time you've put up three tents and got to know your neighbours it'll be time to head to the Pyramid Stage to watch the footy, then on to the Cider Bus for the first efestivals meet, having a wicked time with a load of friendly folk.

I went on my own in 08 and had an amazing time, saw so much more than I ever did when I went with groups a few times before, sat down when I wanted, watched what I wanted, danced when I wanted and was forced to talk to people that I prob wouldn't otherwise!! It was great!

Relax - everything will be fine. Going alone can be so much better than in a big group.
You haven't got a "collective will" to deal with - you can go where you want, when you want. Meet others on their own, meet groups. The world is your oyster and all that

No carry all your money and cards with you at all times.

If find a gilet, a sort of waistcoat with lots of zip pockets, is pretty secure.  If you want to be really keen, put a safety pin through the zips.

Only leave in the tent anything you don't mind losing and even make sure that is spread around.

Use the lockups too, you can leave a small bag there with essentials you don't want to carry around, they are 24 hour.

A place to leave your cigarette supply.  Ciggies aren't cheap at Glasto and you may not be able to buy your brand.

Hi everyone,

2010 will be my 4th Glasto.  Recenty separated from the Mrs and my mate has dropped out today due to credit issues! I'm a little apprehensive about  going solo this year but I know I would regret it if I didn't.

Im hoping to meet some fantastic people as I did last year. Infact last year I spent more time with the friends I made on the bus, the infamous 14 hr journey gave perfect opportunity to get wasted with 50 fellow Glastoers.

Despite that fact, it is daunting and it would be great to meet up with some other folk.

:P

Im travelling from Nottingham by Coach if anyone else is heading down on the bus give me a buzz.
