The 59' Sound is awesome. But it's not as good as Sink or Swim.

Not criticising but if you loved them at T how come you didn't like the album as if it was anything like their glasto set there would only have been maybe 3/4 songs off other albums?
Sink or Swim is great as it has that raw feeling to it and it's a very good album. Not a patch on the second one though.
As an aside for anyone into Gaslight the Senor and the Queen EP has a couple of awesome tracks on it and This Charming Man, Brian Fallon's previous band, also have a long EP called Every Little Secret which is worth a listen.

Agree that it's the Sunday or nothing now. Really hope they play the Sunday but it's starting to look like a lot of consecutive nights. Maybe they're just packing 'em in while they're here?

It's not quite that straightforward
Brum - Glasgow - Manchester - London - London - Glastonbury.
That's six successive nights/days which is fairly heaving going. Then one day off then Oxford.
That said they could cover that number of people and only spend 10 days in the UK so it's certainly possible that they've just packed them in deliberately. I'm sure they will want to get back to the US and promote American Slang over there.

sunday it is then. but as Budvar says, it is a bit worrying to see all the consecutive dates. but surely they'll do the sunday. i'm just down to 95% sure, rather than the 100% i was a few days ago. still can't believe Neil doesn't have them up as a rumour! (strong one at that)

I have everything crossed, would be gutted if they are in the country (and I am) and don;t get to see them
Hope they announce soon !

It's very good on first couple of listens, tempo down slightly from the frenetic pace of some of the '59 Sound tracks but very tuneful and authentic and I think the change of pace is clever as brings the vocals through. Interested to know what you think.

I really like it, first listen it seemed a bit watered down and slow, but after 2 more listens I like it, got a positive feel about it

I'd keep your hopes up - it seems very very unlikely that they will be in London Friday and Saturday then in Oxford on the Tuesday and not play Glasto on the Sunday.

Yeah my feelings are pretty much the same on them two headliners, I can't really get into Stevie Wonder, he has a few tunes but I just find it difficult to listen to him for more than 1 song at a time...
