Here's hoping for an appearance. I normally get to listen to a lot of great reggae at glasto and hope this year is no exception. Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff and Burning Spear are on my wish list too. Oh and Cas Haley - who was on American Idol. Amazing voice.

Fat Freddies Drop. I was only recently introduced to this band and I see they're playing bestival (Who's line up co-incidentaly looks awesome!).

If you're talking Bestival and reggae, why no mention of Twinkle Brothers or Rodigan?
And if you like reggae, tune into the reggae/ska show that's on eFestivals Radio each Friday at 3pm.

Because I haven't heard of them/don't know their stuff. Having a quick listen though and liking it.

There's a lot of his stuff on the tube. A lot of sound clashes. Maybe not my personal choice but he's obviously a legend in what he does.

I used to listen to Rodigan on Capital Radio in the mid/late 70s - and as far as i was aware at that point (tho I was only around 13-15 at the time) there were no other reggae DJs at all.

Rodigan would have been FAR more well known than Derek less than ten years ago - Derek's fame outside of Bristol has come from festies, while Rodigan used to broadcast to a potential audience of 20M+ every week for the many years he was on Capital Radio.

Loved that Twinkle Brothers tune you played early on Neil, had never heard of them. But the album said 1980, so is a pleasant surprise to find them still playing live.
I missed Steel Pulse last year at Glasto, so not going to get too excited about any reggae they announce.
