I'm loving LittlemissC's fantastic idea, and think it needs a thread of it's own, along with a Facebook group: http://www.facebook....id=270274564291

Ok looking at the views of most - how about a posh day with kilts, suits or fancy frocks?

To link us all together, how about a painted mark on one cheek of our faces?

Be funny as hell - I reckon the Sunday being the oldie day and a fab way to see out the weekend?

:P What say you?  Come on! :P

oooo...I like the idea of posh day! Would love to get dressed up in a fancy frock!

A couple of my mates are actually having to leave Glastonbury on the Saturday to go to a wedding. They are going to get ready in a hotel but may well be returning on the Saturday night depending on the headliner (otherwise sunday) so may rock up in their posh wedding clothes!

posh day sounds great! i'd love to kick about in a ballgown, fur coat and some tacky jewelery. :P

Excellent! let's get some momentum going...

Posh Sunday!

You know it makes sense! :P

HaHa, see I knew my full evening suit and black tie idea would come to fruition. Posh day it is as far as I'm concerned although it would be better earlier in the week before everybody has beards!!! :(

View PostHappy Chappy, on Jan 25 2010, 07:11 AM, said:

You're right - ballgowns and beards don't look good

View Postgrumpyhack, on Jan 25 2010, 08:35 AM, said:

I'm up for that, though keeping my white linen suit crumple-free and clean for five days in a tent will be a challenge.

I'm all up for a Posh day, am planning on wearing 18th century costume with masquerade mask. Not sure Sunday's the best day, normally feeling pretty rough by then, and I'll be leaving my costume in the car until the day I wear it.

Friday would be better to dress up on. It has the added bonus of photos potentially appearing in Q Daily on the Saturday.

Brilliant!
My boss is extremley tight with monney and myslf and my colleges had eard that Lidl do a 20 quid suit! and we made jokes about him wearing it on his wedding day and how it would be a laugh to wear it to work. We work in the woods up trees so get very messey so we was going to do it for a laugh.

But now I have two reasons to buy one :P

Sorry rambled a bit there

Absolutely... go to the poshest town near to you and hunt out the charity shops, the ones for the local charities tend to have the best stuff  :P

BTW, Denzil, something wrong with the group, FB won't let me join :P

I may wear a nice tweed jacket and get a cheap kilt. The Scottish aristocratic look. :P

Not sure why it's not letting you. It's an open group.

I've created an event as well, maybe it would be easier to use this?

I'm up for it,

I have a very creasy cream 'summer' suit that I wore to vegas when my and my wife had our vows renewed (no elvis wasn't there).  I looked like a sweaty Welsh Don Johnson in 110 degree heat..

Now its been gathering dust for a good few years; perhaps its time to revive it with a miami vice t-shirt and shades?

Yep, it's dust off the old cream linen suit.
I don't know how I'll cope with a tie though.  These days I only wear one for weddings and funerals but it will probably be worth the effort.

That's a fab idea... the stalls are great and the fancy dress stall in particular is excellent.

Obviously i'm in for this big time - have spoken to all my friends that are going and they are all up for it.  We're going to kit ourselves out in Armstrong's, a fab 2nd hand/retro shop in Edinburgh with cracking gear - if its hot that day you'll smell us a mile off though, the clothes are musty as hell! :P

Should we also say that cross dressing is particularly welcomed? :P

Keep the ideas coming folks and spread it around...

So Bono and The Edge are gonna walk on stage expecting to see thousands of crusty , dirty
hippies and hoping to  really get the Glastonbury / Greenpeace vibe

And they are gonna see thousands of posh people and think they are all from Islington ! and that the hippy vibe is a total fabrication !

Not that I'll be able to join in, but it's a great idea.

One suggestion: Do it Thursday, so you don't have the distraction of performances to compete with. Also means you can combine it with going to forum meets etc.
