Who did I see?

Hello all.
I wonder if any of you good folk can help me? On the Saturday night in 2008 I was on my way to see The Proclaimers, it was probably some time between 10 and 11, I was probably heading from the Pyramid and I was definitely drunk. Anyway, at some point on this journey my attention was grabbed by the sound of some swing music being played on a tiny stage by a band of about 8 or 9 blokes all in bright yellow jackets? I ended up staying for quite a while, dancing like a loon, and it was one of my Glastonbury highlights. Trouble is, I have no idea who they were, where I saw them or if they regularly play Glastonbury, but I'd dearly love to see them again. I know that's not much information, but does anyone know what the devil I'm talking about?

Cheers, but it definitely wasn't the bandstand. The stage was in an enclosed area and I think there was even a small bar to the left of the stage. I really hope I didn't just dream it.
Also, I think it was fairly close to Avalon if that helps as that's where The Proclaimers played.

So you would have been watching or waiting for Jay Z , and I think The Proclaimers were on the
Avalon Stage.
Now you would have either gone via the Jazz World stage , or passed the Leftfield and through
the Theatre District I reckon.
If you can remember which way you went it could help you answer your problem !

I reckon I'd have probably passed Jazz World and the stage/bar/whatever was on the right hand side of the path on the way to Avalon.
I can't find my programme from 2008 so I can't even tell who was on at the time in question.
I also tried to find the stage last year in daylight and had no joy. I'd probably have had no trouble if I'd have waited until it was dark and I was wasted.

wasn't there a Hog Roast (or something similar) that had a bar and a stage...
I remember seeing a kid (about 12 years old!) playing some amazing slide guitar, and decided to stay and watch a while, but it was his last tune...
now... who was he??

The lay out sounds like the hog roast stage (there's another thread about it somewhere), but that would have taken you slightly out of your way. But if you were drunk then maybe you missed the turning for the Jazz World and headed round the back of the Other Stage and onto the railway line?!

The late n live and Queens Head stage had bars in them , I think the late n live was non alcoholic
but if you were drunk would you notice
I think the bars were to the right tho.
Coming from Pyramid it would be very easy to end up there !

Sounds like the Avalon Cafe, small enclosed venue, bar, and near the Avalon stage. Can't help you with the act, but wasn't far away as I caught a bit of the Proclaimers before watching Dreadzone in Arcadia (my highlight of that year possibly).

that is just what the world needs more of...
people in lime green or purple suits playing music, others in grass skirts dancing, girls hula-hooping, kids making things, babies a-sleeping...

Cheers everyone - what a helpful bunch.
Now Chris, that band matches the description, but I don't think it's them. I've managed to put a clip of them on youtube, but my shakey camera work and poor quality phone means it doesn't reveal too much about the stage, but maybe it'll ring a few bells with someone?

Are you sure it was Glastonbury?
