I'm pretty certain that none of thePyramid headliners will interest me. I can't say I'm bothered though.

Live shows and albums. I'd guess Oasis sold more albums and played to more people in the last decade.
I'm not arguing Oasis's case, I'm saying how your "strong" arguments don't hold true.
well,
british bands wise..
Oasis, Blur, Verve,Levellers,Radiohead were all huge in the 90's
in the 00's the only big british bands(who came to prominence) I could think of being able to hold down a pyramid headliner slot (in my opinion"
Muse, Coldplay, Gorillaz
I still dont think Kasabian, Razorlight, Kooks, Snow Patrol and Libertines are good enough, or have enough material to headline the stage(Kasabian is the only one near getting there imo)
And I dont think Artic Monkeys should headline so soon and i still dont think they have enough material...
I recognise Muse were around in the 90's but they didn't become a global sensation, mulltiple wembley and stadium sell out band until the 00's
I can't think of many bands with as many spectacular albums, and live reviews, and awards for being the best live band numerous of times(although I am not saying that makes them good)
Simply put, they are the best british band of the last decade, still together and still touring.
Can you name me a better or bigger one?

And therein lies the problem with Muse. They (and Bellamy in particular) are obviously so musically gifted that they just bore the pants off of me.
Widdly guitar solo, run around a bit, overwrought vocals, widdly guitar solo, more running around a bit, more overwrought vocals, technically fantastic piano solo and then some more overwrought vocals about some half-baked conspiracy theory bollocks. Booooooring.
They're like the anti Sex Pistols to my mind. People that are that good musicians should be banned from being in bands I think. Sorry Olly.
Anyway, i'm blindly ignoring that EE tweet and hoping the Stevie rumour comes through with Take That (minus that fool Williams, obv) as the other headliner. But if it ends up being Muse let's hope for Daft Punk on t'Other, Justice in Dance East, the Skatalites on Jazz, Carter USM on John Peel, Kate Rusby in Acoustic and Bellowhead on Avalaon all at the same time so I have some kind breakdown deciding who to see and end up missing everyone due to massive over-indulgence of every last thing going.
Huzzah.

Personally I would find 2/3 hours of Stevie Wonder boring, but can fully acept that he would be a good headliner.
I think I might even struggle to find Paul McCartney exciting for that length of time.(I know I know, his genius and sensational live but his songs just don't appeal to me that much.)
What else do you want people to say about Muse live? They are amazing, they put on a bloody good light show, have some excellent and varied songs and get on with this playing instead of all this audience interaction crap people spout on about and lets the audience decide if they want to sing along or not instead of trying to force by shouting at them.

6 Music tweeted about an hour ago that the Music Week programme has as well as an exclusive interview with Massive Attack there is also a "very special announcent"....
Could it be headliner info or just something MA related? Hey if it's MA self-confirming, that's cool

I think we should agree to disagree...
It must be a hard job getting headliners to please the masses year in year out if you look at it from an Eavis prospective...
I think 2008 proved that no matter how shit the headliners are, its the atmosphere not the bands playing...
a bit of sun helps a bit too

Massive Attack would be awesome, bit soon after their last appearance though? Dunno where they'd play either after headlining the Other Stage.

Not at all. You can have a series of infinately talented musicians (take for example Red Hot Chili Peppers) but if their egos are too big and they're too interested in showing off, they're shite (take for example Red Hot Chili Peppers).
Now Muse aren't nearly as bad as RHCP for this, but they're getting gradually worse.
