read the sunday headliner is a North American act, Bryan Adams is canadian so that rules him out. Should be a decent festival.

apart from the venue being moved to near nairn theres still no news about who's going to be on the sunday. or if the saturday line up is any additions. theres only 3 months to go. i can see this thing getting cancelled.

Like what? I mean, the line-up leaves a lot 2 B desired, but cuz it's 4 charity i dont mind that much
. plz share these "concerning factors" .
1)Poor planning shown by the change of venue (never a good sign for an inaugral festival) and lack of proper negotiation with police and neighbouring landowners prior to announcing the event
2)A new organising team (Caledonian Productions) with no clear track record of organising events of these scale
3)Unrealistic expectations- 20k each day means that they are expecting a bigger crowd than rockness
4)Timing- 2nd of May in Inverness the weather will be err interesting. One of the earliest festivals of the year in the uk (in inverness, its gonna be cold)
5)Lack of information- I am not even clear wether it is a festival or an event (difference would be camping facilities) it really is not clear. Also is it going to be a single stage event or is there supporting tents etc
6)Nature of the event: is 70's/80's rock really what is needed in the Highlands (if the answer is yes refer to point 3) I also dont know anything about the feel of the event, there has not been any thought about presenting the event as anything different. (Belladrum was initially sold as a family friendly event etc)
7)Tickets are being sold independantly (not through the big agencies) whilst this is positive on one hand iI do wonder why when all the other local festivals use the ticketing agencies are Rock4life not?
8)Whilst it is for a charity there is no clear indication as to how much will be going to Maggies (will it be a percentage of profits ((notoriously low for first events)or an amount from each ticket or a keen marketing ploy?)
9)There are already 3 festivals in the highlands and a rod stewart gig this year, attempts to squeeze into the market have failed by far better organised events (ie the outsider) and by equally ambitiuous eg Skye music festival.
10)Line up- The headlining act is one that is currently touring and will be doing various other events and festivals this year. The other support is not my cup of tea. And as for bryan adams if indeed it is him, could he really pull in 20 000 from such a small area many of whom have already bought gigs for other tickets or are tied into the other festivals?
I did try not to be negative...

good news. they have announced the bill for sunday.
bad news. its the sugababes, lemar and mcfly. cant belive they have already ruined this festival(well the sunday anyway)by getting such a load of crap.particularly lemar.
