Nice one, just to start persuading the friends now :P

Just noticed you are from Glasgow as well ColFace, how do you usually get over? i'm guessing squezyjet from glasgow to berlin?

I've got my flights and ticket booked, Wed 14th-Wed 21st with Easyjet to Schonefeld.  Going to spend the extra nights in Berlin.  We're going to hire a car to take down rather than bus.

I can't wait, its my favourite festival.

This will be my first Melt, and i can not wait! Coming from Glasgow too.

Lineup looks immense, me and a few mates are talking about heading to Exit festival first then spending a couple of days between Budapest/Berlin before doing Melt, this could be epic!

How quickly do tickets sell out in advance for Melt? probably going to book up soonish anyways.

Hi,

I am so excited for you - that's the trip we made last year: Budapest>Exit>Budapest>Melt.  If you need any tips planning this then let me know.  I can also recommend a cheap and minted apartment in Budapest if you want to spend the days in between chilling in luxury.

I would advise against camping at Exit as its just too hot and there is so much good accommodation on offer.

Melt doesn't usually sell out until a couple of months before but it is getting more popular each year.

I am getting giddy thinking about it.

Nice one Col, thanks for the info.

Will give you a shout re: places to stay in Budapest if we decide to do both, really looking forward to summer now!

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a question about tickets.
I ordered one from   http://www.meltfestival.de/en
just wanted to check that this is the official website, I must have got a bit confused but i've received an email saying i have reserved one but need to transfer the money by bank account within ten days.
Is this right? has anyone else done it this way, it just seems like a bizarre way to buy a ticket so i'm not too sure!

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Yeah, that's the real site. But it does seem like a weird way for a festival to sell tickets tho'.

Can any one please give me a bit of advice, 2 of us are going to Melt, will be in Berlin for 3 days before the festival, what is the best way to getting from the centre of Berlin to the Festival in terms of price and ease of getting there?

Thanks in advance!

I reckon train to Dessau? is the easiest looking way of travel from Berlin to the festival.

Also just found out i have won 2 tickets to this, so that has saved me some cash, but my work might not be able to give me the holidays! nightmare! Pleading with them though so fingers crossed!!

We have buses going from Berlin Schonefeld airport to the festival on Thursday and Friday, so you would have to get a shuttle train from the centre out to the airport to catch them (about €2.50 per person, takes about 30 mins and they go every half hour or so). The bus is £18 per person and you can book online through the website here.

Please note festival organisers have WARNED of a website named World Ticket Shop, where Melt! tickets are sold for twice as much as the regular ticket price. They have not find out where World Ticket Shop gets its ticket supply from, please make sure to NOT PAY MORE than 90,- Euro for a 2 day ticket  and 112,- Euro for a 3 day ticket including pre-sale fees

hey! i just saw the tickets on this website and am really tempted...because i've already booked my plane ticket (non-refundable) to germany. I dont know what to do!!! do people ever sell a spare ticket? please let me knowww :S

I bought a physical ticket from lastminute.com this year but I've searched their site and they don't seem to list them anymore.

In 08 and 09 I bought e-tickets directly from the website and paid for them using PayPal.  I tried to do the same this year and must have had a brain fart as I couldn't quite figure it out.  There are still tickets available so you should try that and keep google translate open to try and decipher the German.

Hey!  Do you know a site for people who want to car-pool?  i'm looking for a lift to Melt on the 16 July, happy to pay for petrol...Does anyone have a spare seat in their car?
Cheers!
