Nice one.. we can have a console thread meet at Glastonbury with Langdale etc, meet you in the Playstation Tent  :P
:P

we can sit and play modern warfare 2 all weekend! what a better way to spend a weekend?

of course im joking.... we'll have to stop while vanalla ice plays

as much as a love gaming, the playstation tent wont be getting put in my schedule. i'd hate to end up there steaming drunk and sing on singstar (ive been known to occasionally do karaoke while completely bladdered  :P its not a pretty sight/sound)

Took me ages to find this thread again

They're playing at Open Air St Gallen in Switzerland on the friday of glasto so they're in the area, does that increase the chances of them playing?

Eh?

The Strokes are one of the most disappointing live bands I've ever seen.

I gave them so many chances to prove me wrong, but always the same drab staring at the floor. Such a shame

By in the area I presume hes talking about Europe, if Julian is billed to play surely the rest of the band would come to England too, as opposed to twiddling their thumbs in Switzerland or going home.

For American bands most of europe seems to be considered in the area of England due to the sheer size of america  :P

really would be cool if they played. wouldn't like it to be a secret slot though unless you knew about it beforehand. i couldn't think of anything worse than finding out you'd missed them coz you didnt know it was happening, or getting a call saying they were on and running across the site only to miss half the set!

if it was "secret" it wouldnt stay secret for long.

it would be (as just about all special guest appearances are) common knowledge by the time they take the stage.

altho ill never forget going to see Franz at the park in 08 and loads of annoying Dizzee Rascal fans were there thinking it was going to be him on!!  :P

and then walked off annoyed when franz came on! What im saying is if you make an effort to find out who it is then you will find out.

To be fair, I think the Dizzee Rascal fans were just turning up at the time he was scheduled to be on. They'd messed about with the timings on that stage though and he came on late (after Franz).

Wasn't Dizzee on afterwards?

Edit: beaten to it.

Its IOW and Rockness

but i think Casablancas said off-the-record something about a third one that will be announced in an interview? I think Neil has Julian listed 'solo' because he said something along the likes of "if they'll have me, i'll play" or something. But if the Strokes are on the continent playing gigs on the friday, surely it means the rumour would more likely be for a Strokes gig rather than a sudden switchover to a Julian Casablancas gig where he'd have to fly in his band from the US just for the gig...or just do a solo appearance?

so, sat or sun for The Strokes is a decent possibility...with luck it will be a sunday park headline appearance that adds to the Wonder/Browne/Orbital/Rod y Gab clash fiasco...

Yeah I just meant it would be a lot easier for them to come to england if they were already in europe than if they flew over for america.

Oh god it's my worst fear that they'll do a secret gig and I won't realise. I'm hoping for sunday night headliners somewhere so I have an excuse not to see stevie.
