Love em to bits.
When they played Leeds back in 2001 I have never known anticpation like it, not many bands
get booted from small stage to main stage hours before they are on !
They are playing IOW and some Festival up in Scotland , yet Julian is SR for Glasto.
The last time they toured Europe in the summer Glasto was having a year off so they missed em
so surely this year would be the time to grab em.
So do we think Glasto will prob get The Strokes , but it ain't announced yet or we will have to make
do with a solo Julian appearence ?
AAAAAAAAAH !!

Fingers crossed for Glastobury. I'd love to see the Strokes there. If there's some truth in the Julian Casablancas rumour then it wouldn't be too difficult to get a Strokes set organised over the same weekend..
Not getting my hopes up though - They'll probably get booked for Reading or V festival instead..

My betting is that we will be seeing a very greedy summer from V. They will be headling the second stage at V is my guess.

I think it'll just be Casablancas at Glasto.

i said it in the other strokes thread and i'll repeat it here, a friend of mine spoke with julian casablancas last december and asked him if the strokes would be playing glastonbury to which he just grinned and said "you know i can't say!" make of that what you will.
we hear every year that so and so will only be playign so many festivals or so and so is exclusive to a certain festival only for it to turn out to be untrue.

It does seem strange.
If a band are inactive , and one of the group wants to do some solo stuff fine , but I am finding it
hard to comprehend that Julian C would appear as a solo artist at G when he has obviously got
commitments with his band.
When Dave G from Depeche Mode played Glasto the other year no one expected the rest of the
band to turn up and play , but i feel this may be the case with Julian Casablancas , the Glasto
rumour mill would be in overdrive

i think there were rumours of the strokes playing before casablancas making a solo apperance became a rumour that's why.
and just because he has commitments with the band that doesn't mean he can't nip off and do his own thing here and there.
