Didn't andy who runs download say he wasn't booking van halen as they'd be asking for far too much money?

I think the NME says Soundgarden are playing Sonisphere but this is without seeing the actual magazine.

That was a LONG time ago, last year in fact when he had Rammstein as a headliner, since then they went to Sonisphere, I believe also he thought he would be able to have AC/DC on Sunday but they're playing Friday at Download, think he wants another old school act for Sunday, Van Halen it is it appears, as before he was viewing them as sub headliner, and he said it was too much as a sub
I think its a balanced set of headliners, and he'll probably have newer acts headline second stage Friday and Sunday

The Download forum is having the same argument we had you know wether TCV are worth headlining spot feels lke deja vu.
I suppose regarding Download we will find out their headliners in 2 weeks
