Just for anyone who lives in the Chelmsford District, glad to see the council are changing the way we get our tickets for this year (after the crap pre-registration process we had to go through).

Dear V Festival goer,

V Festival 2010 – Dedicated Essex Residents Ticketing Service.

We are writing to inform you of some important changes regarding the sale of 2010 V Festival tickets to Essex residents.

You are receiving this e-mail as you pre-registered last year for the new dedicated internet booking system, exclusively for Essex residents, operated by Chelmsford Borough Council. Following comments made by some users who encountered issues using the system during 2009, we are pleased to tell you that the following improvements/changes have been made to deliver a greater level of customer service in 2010:

A limited number of tickets will be available to Essex Residents, 24 hours before tickets go on sale nationally (in previous years this has been around the first week of March).

These tickets will be sold through an approved national ticket agent both online and by telephone.

No pre-registration process will be needed as your postcode will be used to verify your booking.

Please note, there will be no tickets available to purchase, either in person, or by phone from the Chelmsford Civic Theatre Box Office ahead of the 2010 V Festival.

The dedicated Essex residents’ service gives you the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets through the exclusive Essex residents’ booking system, 24 hours before national sales commence. Unfortunately, this does NOT guarantee you tickets, but does give you the advantage of only competing with other Essex residents, rather than the whole of the country.

If you are unsuccessful in purchasing tickets through this means, you still have the opportunity to purchase tickets the following day through approved national ticket agents.

Chelmsford Borough Council will email you again in a few months time once the national on-sale ticket date is announced to give you full details of how to access the dedicated Essex residents’ ticketing service.

Yours sincerely

Civic Theatre Box Office
Chelmsford Borough Council

Looks like if there is a decent line-up, there's going to be a couple coming my way. :P
