I thought they would be about £20. Hunter wellies are about £60 some are over £100, are they worth the money or should I just get a cheap pair from B&Q and get a good pair of insoles? If not any idea where I can get good quality wellies for cheap?

I got a pair of Dunlops i think for a £10er last year, had no trouble with them last year and will be usingthem again this year if needed (not that it will
)
No need to pay that much for Hunters, there welly boots at the end of the day, not fashion accessories!

You'll feel a right ninny in your £60 wellies, on the parched ground under the blazing sun.

I bought some standard green gardening wellies 2 or 3 years ago for £9. Although they've not been worn that much for the last couple of years, they've been perfectly comfy and dry, and I've not had any blisters or rubbing.
Like the person above said, they are (or should be) a practicality not a fashion accessory. Though some people now seem though to wear them whatever the ground conditions for whatever reason.
Just make sure you try them on before you buy them and that they seem to fit OK.
And yeah, you won't need them anyway

At the end of the day you pay for what you get. I got some hunter wellies for £40 off the net
I got some £10 wellies last year and at the end of the festival my feet were killing

I just nabbed my dads old pair and have been using them in Glasto since the 90s. He had them since the 70s. They're green, rubber and don't leak. I personally wouldn't spend a jot on wellies so to speak. There's bound to be a shop close enough to you that sells pairs for a lot less than a tenna

They've probably upped the prices due to the weather so I would wait until April/May and pick up a bargain then.....

Just make sure you take some high socks! If it ends up muddy enough for wellies but sunny enough for shorts you can get a pretty sore rash on the back of your calf from the wellie slapping against bare skin all day.

Try Asda-they usually have some good wellies for no more than £15. Usually start stocking them around festival session

My work wellies are great. Steel toe-capped and very comfy...even comfier with the simple and cheap addition of a gel insole.
£10! PSF Safety boots. Great for not getting your toes trodden on in a crowd! Got em from a SafetyWare company.
I was astounded at how expensive regular wellies were/are when I signed up for my farming course.
Le Chameau are worth it though, a bit trendy but uber comfy.

I have hunters for one reason - fat calves
Over the last 10 years I have tried squeezing myself into various cheaper wellies only for them to rub and be uncomfortable. This year I bought a pair of lace up Hunters and they are awesome , love them to bits. I can adjust them if they get uncomfortable. Hopefully they will last the next 10 years

Go to a shop where people who need wellies buy them. They might not be the height of fashion, but people who work in wellies won't waste their money.

mine are joe bananas ones
Added a sports insole and they are comfy.
Without, just a bit too hard on the feet.
Welly socks turned over the tops seems to prevent rubbing as add a bit of ventilation.
£15 at Joe bananas, by the leftfeild, at about 8 on the Friday morning of the 2005 floods.
Label on bottoms says "farmer" if that is any help.
Oh, I'm a half size so I did have to get the next full size. If you try a pair in and they are tight, go up a half size (not always possible) or a full size and put insoles into them, squidgy sports ones if possible. it makes all the difference.

Have never been to a wet Glasto, so don't know quite how bad it COULD be. Am looking at some calf height ones from Dunlop. Anyone know if calf height will keep me covered in all bar the worst?
