Hey Y'all
Ill cut to the chase, I know i'm going to be low on cash this year and my first hopes of RAR will most likely not happen as I cant afford a ticket ATM and as its an anniversary show I can see it selling out quicker than last year. Bad times.
So I was looking through the site and came across BBK live for about 70 quid with Pearl Jam and Rammstien already announced it looks tempting.
Anyone been before ?

Sweet!!!

Hey, i went last year and had an amazing time! Basement Jaxx were brilliant and this year Rammstein sold it for me, wishing to see them for years.
It's not a well known festival therefore quite small, we could walk up to the front of the stage about 10mins before the act went on....
Music starts about 4pm and stays till about 2am then there is a late night dance tent thats open till 7am.
Set on a hill overlooking Bilbao makes for a brilliant wake up scenery. Language barrier was a slight issue, though by the third day our broken spanish kind of worked.
We got a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao which was a long ride to be fair (33hrs) but was a pretty fun trip (Cinema, cheap beer, casino etc). Getting to Bilbao from the port was pretty easy and cheap on the tram then there was a free bus to the festival. Bilbao was pretty good to walk round too!
Definitley two thumbs up. And its cheaper than any english festival.
Oh and they have a currency system much like Lowlands. You buy tokens in the festival and use them to buy food and drink. Merchandise etc is paid for in Euros.
Any more questions just ask

Yeah I was wondering about the language barrier, Its not exactly a tourist hotspot.
Whats the beer and food prices like?
Also that Ferry from Pompey, how much for a return? sounds like it could be banter with a few mates.

The language barrier was a little hard, but knowing how to say "cheers/thank you" helps
And so does english. Its bad to think it this way but more people know English than English knowing Spanish etc.....
They ferry cost £360 for two people including cabin, cheapest cabin.... But that was book 17th June so quite close to the time of departure.
For a rundown check http://disco-vigilan...k-festival.html as i wrote a kind of review of the festival which includes most of the information.
Anything else you want to know, just ask.

both Optimus Alive in Lisbon and BBK looks not to be missed. Line-up similiar, although BBK is better cause they got Skunk Anansie instead of Kasabian.
Is there only one stage? is it really that easy to go to front of the stage just before show gig starts? i mean if i wanna see headliner, should i be in front since 4p.m? or will be ok if i go there after subheadliner? not sure if i make myself clear

Hi all. I've booked for BBK Live this year, I've emailed the website several times now but received no reply so I wondered if anyone knows if you can access the campsite the day before the festival, as that's when I'll be arriving, or whether I'll need to find somewhere to stay for the Wednesday night. Cheers

I'm very tempted to go to this. I've been to the Azkena Rock Festival (in nearby Vitoria) a couple of times - each time it has been fantastic. The line-up at BBK this year looks amazing, though I'll be seeing most of those bands anyway. Still, for about £70!!....hmm
If anyone sees cheap flights to Bilbao, let me know!

Hey, new guy here. I'm Jam
We're heading up to BBK this year as the lineup looks amazing. Rammstein/Pearl Jam/Alice In Chains is just too good to miss. Flying to Santander and spending a day/night there (beach, woo), then we'll be getting a train down to Bilbao and working it out from there.
I'm semi-conversant in spanish so we should be okay... I'm hella rusty though. I'm sure it'll come flooding back when I don't have any other choice!
They've just put up the details for camping, etc in Spanish - the campsite will be open from 6pm Wednesday and closes on 2pm Sunday. Stage times are also up on the site in English.
Bizarrely it looks like you can only pick up wristbands between 12pm and 1am on Thursday, so I have no idea how prior access to the campsite will be managed. We'll see...
I thought I'd post on here to see if there was anyone else going - if anyone else fancies throwing in with some brits in the name of conversation, camping and beer, let me know!
Cuidaos
Jam
