i know this is awful, but i am going with two girls, and we are all travelling from different parts of the country, me from belfast and the other two from london and somewhere else...

normally i share the load of the tent, but it will be more difficult to coordinate this year...ultimately i dont see the problem, but the girl in london wanted me to at least find out for her...

any ideas....

im against the idea completely to be honest...i would if i could come to the festival with a change of clothes. and buy a shitty tent at joe bannanas

Why can't you still do this? Would be much cheaper than the pre pitched tents on offer, which if I understand correctly are located outside the festival and stupidly expensive.

The girls can buy there own tents at the festival too.

I'm assuming you are arriving all on the same day and that the real issue is not the fact that they are incapable of putting up a tent.

You could all take one of those little 1-man tents each. Think i bought mine for £12 and it has lasted 2 Glastos so far.

Just grab pop up tents from Joe Bananas (or millets) onsite. way cheaper than pre-pitched tents, a piece of piss to pitch (and you can camp wherever you like)...plus you can leave it behind if you don't fancy taking it down (which is the feckin' hard part!).

By that I assume you mean take it down, pack it up and leave it with the stewards to be recycled?  :P

You can get pre pitched tents at some festivals (not sure about Glasto) but they are expensive. They also have those pod things that look really cool but when I saw the price I was well put off!!!

I always thought they sounded a reasonably good idea - until i was talking to the crew at a festival last summer who put up the tents. They had put them up early and explained it was because they have to sterilise the tents, and leave them to dry after a soaking in sterilizer (ewww) - after being told that I was put off the idea.

no we are sharing the tent :P
if we can get a tent from joe's for a bout 90 quid, its 30 quid each that i dont mind spending....then we would take the tent back to one of their flats in england...

:P  of course that's what I mean!....

Edit: actually, I was mixing up my festivals a bit there...at EP, the tents for recycling were taken down by volunteers from the scouts, so you just had to leave it standing if you didn't want it...a lot less tents to recycle though!...I've never actually left a tent at Glasto so wasn't sure what the procedure was.

Pack it up and take it home with you is the new leave it behind for someone else to clear-up.  You'll even get a free ride back to the car park on the monorail if you've got a tent with you when leaving!

The monorail's not free, you have to buy your monorail passes at the same time as buying your carpark pass.

:P (It is possible to travel without having your passes checked)
